The official who triggered the federal probe into former President Donald Trump's handling of classified documents opted against doing the same concerning Hillary Clinton's email scandal.

David Ferriero, who served as the director of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) from November 2009 until he retired this past April, said in a February letter to House Oversight Committee leadership that his staff had started communicating with the Department of Justice (DOJ) earlier this year.

In January, Trump returned 15 boxes of documents from his time in office to NARA after the agency notified him the material belonged to the federal government. ...

Whoa, hold the phone.  The statutes cited in the warrant have ZERO connection to the National Archives.  None.  Zip.  Nada.  So if this is true that some National Archives official triggered this probe, then DOJ has a serious problem on their hands.  Because they issued a warrant that had nothing to with the probe.

The lead investigator in the House of Representatives committee on the Trump Russia hoax says he knows why the FBI raided former president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, and it didn’t have anything to do with scary-sounding “classified documents relating to nuclear weapons,” as the DOJ got The Washington Post to spread on its behalf.

Kash Patel believes something more is afoot than a beef between Trump, the General Services Administration (GSA), and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

The former federal national security prosecutor and Trump Administration Chief of Staff for the Department of Defense believes the FBI raided Trump’s resort to seek and destroy any documents related to the Trump-Russia hoax — Russiagate — that Trump had previously declassified back in 2020 and 2021.

The former federal prosecutor told Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum that Donald Trump issued “sweeping declassification orders” in 2020 and 2021, including the Russiagate and Hillary Clinton email investigation documents.

When that is added to the comments by the Director for National Intelligence (DNI) in the Trump Administration, John Ratcliffe, you begin to wonder what’s really at play here.

Ratcliffe told Fox Business anchor Larry Kudlow, another former Trump official, that “surely this is not about classified documents and the president being in possession of those.” He said, “it has to be more than that because the Department of Justice and the FBI have already set a standard that makes it virtually impossible to prosecute a case like that.”

The Washington Examiner reported that Ratcliffe claimed this was settled back in 2016. “As people talk about Espionage Act and classified documents and all of that, the standard was set in 2016,” with the Hillary Clinton email probe. He said, “the Department of Justice and FBI said six years ago, you gotta be able to prove intent. He’s already denied that he had the intent to do it.”

Former President Donald Trump lashed out at the FBI on social media Saturday night, calling their integrity into question days after they conducted a raid on his private Florida residence.

In a series of posts, Trump called the FBI "corrupt" and claimed their raid at Mar-a-Lago on Monday was just the latest in a series of attempts to undermine him. These claims are unsubstantiated.

"The FBI has a long and unrelenting history of being corrupt. Just look back to the days of J. Edgar Hoover," the former president wrote on TRUTH Social, referencing the first director of the federal bureau.

Trump added: "In the modern era, nothing has changed except that it has gotten far worse."

The former president then made a series of unverified claims involving former FBI Director James Comey, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former FBI agent Peter Strzok, and former FBI attorney Lisa Page. He also referenced the way the FBI impacted the 2016 presidential election.

"Look at Comey, McCabe, Strzok and lover Lisa Page. Check out the brilliantly written but damning I.G. Reports. See what they were willing to do in order to get Crooked Hillary Clinton elected (they failed), and got caught! They spied on my campaign, pushed the FAKE Dossier, and illegally used the FISA Court," Trump claimed.

The only reason they raided Mar-a-Lago was because they were terrified he would run for president (and win) in 2024. So, they raid his private residence on trumped up charges just to muddy him up in hopes his supporters will abandon him. Disgusting! And it won’t work.

During an appearance on FNC’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” former Attorney General Michael Mukasey argued the real motivation of the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home last week was to find evidence tying Trump to the January 6 Capitol Hill riot.

Mukasey suggested the raid and the timing of the seizure of Rep. Scott Perry’s (R-PA) cell phone suggested ties to January 6.

“I think my view of this is rather more closely tied to more current events than the Russia collusion episode,” he said. “And I think it’s a view that I share with Andy McCarthy, who has also been on your air. And that is that this has more to do with gathering documents relating to the January 6 investigation than it does with — really with anything else. That, I think, ties more closely to the — what was going on at the time. You recall that there was — there were grand jury subpoenas served on White House counsel Pat Cipollone, that there was a search of Eastman and another colleague … who — which also related to January — Clark — which also related to January 6, although we were told that it related to an inspector general’s investigation, which it could not have related to because the inspector general is not a law enforcement officer and could not have gotten a search warrant. The day afterwards, they seized Congressman Perry’s telephone.”

“He was also involved in the January 6 events,” Mukasey continued. “And the categories of documents that they were authorized by this warrant to seek, there were — there were three statutes cited. Only one of them has anything to do with — conceivably with classified documents. The other two don’t. The other two are general statutes relating to obstruction and interference with government functions. The categories of documents that were authorized to be seized included two that were so broad as to include basically every piece of paper there. They authorized the seizure of classified — of documents with classification markings, but anything that was in the same box or in the same location that were stored together. That’s essentially anything in the same room. They also authorized the seizure of any document created during the period of the Trump administration. That’s everything. So, you put that all together with the fact that they have got an active January 6 investigation, and I — that’s what I think it relates to.”
