Whoopi: God Didn’t Make a Mistake Giving Me Smarts to Pick Abortion

Bringing the hassle back to ABC’s The View on Wednesday, former conservative co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck returned to celebrate the 25th season and confronted the cast with the pro-life alternatives to abortion. And her compassion for life was greatly needed on the show as co-host Whoopi Goldberg ghoulishly proclaimed that since “God doesn't make mistakes” he made her “smart enough to know when” abortion was the right call.
While the rest of the cast were trying to scare the audience about states adopting pro-life laws, including co-host Joy Behar falsely suggesting women could not be treated for life-threatening ectopic pregnancies, Hasselbeck brought the facts. “So, I think a lot of people try to link those two together,” she called out the falsehood.
Hasselbeck also pointed out how the thing “we're failing to mention to women as women is that there are options out there that extend beyond abortion.” She then drew attention to the “thousands of agencies that wrap around women” to support them during the pregnancy and after the birth:
