Harris scolds anti-abortion lawmakers for not knowing 'how a woman's body works'

Vice President Kamala Harris claimed anti-abortion lawmakers don't understand women's bodies during a roundtable discussion with Indiana state legislators.
"Maybe some people need to actually learn how a woman's body works," Harris said Monday during her opening remarks in Indianapolis.
"When you understand how a woman's body works, you will understand that the parameters that are being proposed mean that for the vast majority of women, by the time she realizes she is pregnant, she will effectively be prohibited from having access to reproductive healthcare that would allow her to choose what happens to her body," she added.
Harris has become President Joe Biden's chief administration spokeswoman on abortion after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last month in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.
Her day trip to Indiana coincides with a weekslong special session, convened by Gov. Eric Holcomb (R-IN) at the statehouse, to consider an anti-abortion bill and tax plan.
