Good. Teachers below college level do not have academic freedom. They have no right to teach outside the curriculum, and unions have no right to dictate what kids learn either.
Topics like race and gender are outside the scope of their duties. If there are issues that arise, it should be dealt with by the administration or school board, not teachers creating the problem by indoctrinating students.
My aunt and uncle were school teachers. Yes, it's been a while and they have retired, but they stated that the primary focus of the 'school board' was to teach the students the information necessary to pass the FL standardized tests. Consequently, that cut into the time for them to being able to focus on more of the curriculum that should have been taught and individual time with each student.
Now on top of that teachers have to deal with gender, race, and other special political crappola. So what are students actually being taught these days other than being brainwashed with liberal ideology?
Let the teachers teach for crying out loud; Spelling, English, Math, History, Science, and the arts.
