Monkeypox detected in first 2 children in US, health officials say
The monkeypox can spread through prolonged physical contact and can be fatal
By Lawrence Richard | Fox News

Two children in the U.S. have been diagnosed with monkeypox, health officials announced this week.

On Friday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said a toddler in California and an infant in Washington D.C. were receiving treatment for the disease that has spread from Africa into Europe and the U.S.

More than 15,000 cases have been reported by the international community, including in countries that do not usually see the disease, the CDC reported.

The two children are the latest cases of more than 2,800 reported in the U.S.

Health officials say the disease, which is often spread among men who have sex with other men, can also be transmitted through prolonged personal contact or contact with infected bedsheets or towels — objects that have prolonged contact with infected persons.

The infection is notably rare among children or anyone 17 years old and younger. Across Europe, six cases within that age group have been reported.

The head of the World Health Organisation has declared the monkeypox outbreak a
  • "global health emergency".

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a news conference that despite the WHO committee being unable to come to consensus, he declared the emergency anyway.

He added the risk globally is "moderate", except in Europe where it is "high".

Ok, so it was my understanding  that monkeypox was primarily transmitted by men having sex with men.  Now, the WHO is declaring a high alert.  That indicates to me that perhaps monkeypox is transmitted more easily than just by male homosexuals.  There was a report also of 2 children contracting the virus.

This was more rampant in Africa I thought and now Europe has a high incidence of this virus??

So .... is this the next pandemic and what they are hoping to shut us down for and not allow in-person voting during the mid terms?

The two children lived in the home with previously infected homo's and bi-sexuals and the kids were in close contact with them.

It’s not a world health crisis, it’s a gay health crisis, with spillover to the rest of us that should allow us to ostracize gays who cannot control their behavior.

Children at risk of Monkeypox by end of the year

By Annie Dabb • 17 July 2022 • 12:10

Children at risk of Monkeypox by end of the year unless 4 times the amount of vaccinations are rolled out in Britain to halt the spread.

Public health experts have estimated that 200,000 vaccine doses will be necessary in order to control the spread of the virus. This is 4 times the 50,000 vaccine doses currently on order.

The UK has already seen almost 2000 cases of monkeypox in recent weeks and months, and cases are believed to be doubling every 2 weeks.

Monkeypox is a relatively rare disease which shows up as a rash. It can often be confused with chickenpox. Raised spots turn into small fluid-filled blisters which eventually form scabs and fall off as part of the healing process. Monkeypox can be prevented by vaccines used against smallpox due to the genetic similarity of the viruses.

The majority of cases in the UK and in America have been identified in gay men. Many members of the LGBTQ community are concerned that these statistics will lead to the stigmatisation of the virus and prevent those at risk or suffering from Monkeypox from seeking out the medical treatment that they need.

Former head of the US covid task force, Dr Deborah Birx, has commented that “If you’re at a gay bar and you’re dancing, then there is a risk of infection”, despite the virus being transmitted through physical contact rather than busting a move on the dance floor.

Britons are concerned that monkeypox will spread to children, in whom the symptoms of the virus could be more severe, due to the insufficient number of vaccine doses available. A class of school children were sent home last Thursday after one child came into contact with a monkeypox case.

Parents were advised to refrain from hugging or coming into close contact with their children. As a result, the vaccinations are now being extended to the young population as well as to adults.

Monkeypox is in Bay Area wastewater

It showed up in Stanford’s Sewer Coronavirus Alert Network, which is the only group publishing data on monkeypox in US wastewater.
By

    Hana Kirosarchive page

July 23, 2022

Last month, Stanford’s Sewer Coronavirus Alert Network, or SCAN, added monkeypox to the suite of viruses it checks wastewater for daily. Since then, monkeypox has been detected in 10 of the 11 sewer systems that SCAN tests, including those in Sacramento, Palo Alto, and several other cities in California’s Bay Area.

As of July 21, the US had recorded 2,593 monkeypox cases. Globally, the virus has been detected in 74 countries—68 of which have not historically reported monkeypox.

SCAN began to monitor California wastewater for covid-19 in 2020. It's the only public effort in the US to test if monkeypox is detectable in the shower, sink, and toilet water that is sent to wastewater treatment plants for decontamination. Extracting genetic material from the solids absorbed in raw, unprocessed sewage can provide a community-level look at where a virus or bacteria has spread, and how prevalent an outbreak is.

No.  I looked it up -- maximum protection is 3-5 years. You can bet that this will become the next pandemic and will impact the upcoming election.

Of course they will start rolling out vaccines and mandating that EVERYONE get vaccinated.  Here we go again.

OMG! Buttmonkeys all over the world at risk because of their risky sexual behavior? Unlike Joycelyn Elders I don't think they are our best and brightest or that they are deserving of any more or less attention or consideration than any other human being. The gays have brought this on themselves just as they did the Aids breakout. If they engage in unsafe promiscuity learning nothing from the AIDS situation they deserve what they get.

Monkeypox Strikes Two Children on Opposite Coasts of U.S.

After infecting nearly 3,000 people in the United States, two children have now contracted the monkeypox virus. The two children — an infant and a toddler — were on opposite coasts of the U.S. when diagnosed.

Unless you're meeting is with the Secretary of Transportation, you are not required to wear one of these, until further notice.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.
