Ford plans to cut 8,000 jobs to focus on electric vehicles

Ford Motor Co. is planning to cut as many as 8,000 jobs from its internal combustion engine division as it seeks to channel more funding into its electric vehicle division.

The cuts, reported by Bloomberg, follow Ford CEO Jim Farley's previously announced plans to cut $3 billion in company costs by 2026, including through employee layoffs, as well as his efforts to restructure the company radically.

To that end, Farley has separated Ford into two separate units: “Ford Blue,” which focuses on traditional, industrial combustion engine vehicles, as well as the newer “Model E” division that focuses solely on EV offerings.

Though the layoffs have not yet been finalized, they are expected to focus mostly on salaried employees within the Ford Blue division and could begin as early as this summer. The bulk of the cuts is expected to come from the United States, where Ford employs some 31,000 full-time employees.

Ford’s shares tumbled 39% over the past year due in large part to inflation and broader supply chain problems that have roiled the automotive industry as a whole.

But we've been told that the "green economy" would create millions of jobs...
Throwing our allegiances to political parties in the long run gave away our liberty.

Who do they think they are kidding?

Ford is doing this because the corrupt DNC has promised them mega-millions in tax breaks if they do it.

Ford just APPEARS to be a car company. What they, and all the other big corporations are is nothing more or less than money machines. They produce money for the stockholders, period.

Sumbitch! I bet all those union members that are going to lose their jobs, their families and friends will be sure to continue voting democrat in support of the green new deal after have their lives turned upside down by the Gaia worshipers :silly: :silly: :silly: And Ford like GM pushing EV's that almost no one wants and few can afford, even when the democrats rob the majority of taxpayers to give subsidies to the few(that can already afford it) that do buy them. As always government does everything ass backwards, instead of first upgrading the grid and insuring that there is ample affordable electric generation on line they decide to increase the load and wait for the grid to fail first.  :pondering: of they are democrats so that is probably what they did plan so as to make the public more dependent on the STATE.
