With Chinese invasion looming, Taiwan’s troops seek tech support from American vets

In an effort to keep readiness at top-notch status in case of a Chinese invasion, Army helicopter crews in Taiwan are heading to social media for help from veterans who worked on or flew a US Army legend.

The soldiers, who are part of the Republic of China’s military, went to groups dedicated to the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, a scout helicopter that has long vanished from American inventories.

While the old bird -which originally saw service as the OH-58A in Vietnam before receiving a series of upgrades over the years- is no longer an American staple, it remains in service with several militaries, including that of Taiwan.

With the Communist Chinese hungrily eyeing the potential of an invasion and new real estate from across the Taiwan Strait, ROC forces remain on high alert and ready to use whatever equipment is at their disposal.

Is Taiwan larger than Viet Nam or Korea?
