Heartaches On Heartaches! US Court Ruling May Take 70,000 Truckers Off Road, Spur Jams (Diesel Prices UP 118% Under Biden, Things Just Keep Getting Worse)
confoundedinterest17

Hey, I thought Mayor Pete Buttigieg, the US Transportation Secretary, was supposed to unclog the supply-chain crisis! Instead, we get heartaches on heartaches as diesel prices rise 118% under Biden AND now the bottle-necks may get a lot worse.

A US Supreme Court decision that could force California’s 70,000 truck owner-operators to stop driving is set to create another choke point in already-stressed West Coast logistics networks, a truckers’ organization said.

“Gasoline has been poured on the fire that is our ongoing supply-chain crisis,” the California Trucking Association said in a statement following the Supreme Court’s decision to deny a judicial review of a decision of a lower court, a process known as certiorari.

“In addition to the direct impact on California’s 70,000 owner-operators who have seven days to cease long-standing independent businesses, the impact of taking tens of thousands of truck drivers off the road will have devastating repercussions on an already fragile supply chain, increasing costs and worsening runaway inflation,” the CTA said.

The association asked the Supreme Court for a review of a case challenging California’s Assembly Bill 5, a law that sets out three tests to determine whether a worker is an employee entitled to job benefits or an independent contractor who isn’t. The trucking industry relies on contractors, and has fought to be exempt from state regulations for years because of federal law.

With few exceptions, the relationship between independent truckers and their carriers, brokers and shippers will be governed by the tests.

As if US consumers aren’t getting crushed by rising prices already. In response to the Covid outbreak, The Fed slammed its foot on the money accelerator along with Federal government stimulus. Throw in Biden’s anti-drilling executive orders, and we have a nightmare.

The short term pain may well be worth it in order to further reduce California's voluntary descent into a third world.

We can hope and pray that it secedes from what it calls the hellhole of the USA.

There's just no way around this ... 'they' are bound and determined to turn us into a socialist 3rd world country.  **nononono*
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Another piece blaming the SCOTUS for doing their job because the author doesn't like the policy outcome.  Our side worked very hard to get a SCOTUS that didn't legislate or regulate, just interpret the laws and Constitution (in light of the plain meaning of the words, and when ambiguous, the expressed intent of those who drafted them when it can be discerned) and adjudicate conflicts between laws and between laws and the Constitution.

The blame here is on the government of California, not the SCOTUS.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

The only way to get the voters out in sufficient numbers to overcome democrat party election fraud is to make sure they feel maximal economic pain from democrat policies and priorities in the weeks leading up to the November elections.  This will help in that regard.

I dunno.  Over half are on welfare so they cannot be easily persuaded to vote for those who will empty the trough,

Also, the modus operando of the leftists is to create the pain so their gullible voters will then come swarming to the voting booth to demand those same Dems be elected to ease the pain.

@Kamaji

Thus the Biden promise to remove federal taxes from the sale of gasoline and diesel fuels for 9 months.

Although I am reasonably certain the purpose of this is NOT to fool the goobers into voting Dim because they allegedly "reduced the price of gas and diesel fuel",and that the prices won't skyrocket again right after the elections if they manage to steal it again.

Pull my finger.

How better to bring our country to our knees for Pedo Joe, than throw another dagger into the heart of the supply chain.

Yes, this may be CA, but the dominos fall easily and quickly.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Then the GOP's job is to make sure those in pain know who caused the pain.

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion
I think Noisome should really shout out to the world how he and California democrats are crippling trucking in the state at a time when getting food and products to the store shelves is already so bad. And on the plus side he can crow about how many more jobs and Californians he is driving from California to other states like Texas and Florida. That'll teach DeSantis!
