January 6th 'Emergency' Hearing Delivers Laughably Absurd 'Bombshells'
By Bonchie | Jun 28, 2022 5:00 PM ET

In case you were too busy caring about things that actually matter to notice, the January 6th committee is back in session. That came after its members announced an “emergency” hearing for Tuesday, including the inclusion of a “surprise” witness.

Now, you’d think going through such pomp and circumstance meant they came across some damning new evidence proving their assertion that Donald Trump organized an insurrection. But if you thought that, you thought wrong.

Rather, Tuesday’s hearing was another ridiculous parade of absurdity, full of hearsay and no hard evidence of essentially anything. Yet, one claim by a woman named Cassidy Hutchinson, a former Mark Meadows aide, truly took the cake. The committee strapped on its skis and did a double backflip over the shark by claiming that protesters on January 6th had AR-15s.

Rep. Liz Cheney backed the claim during the hearing, quoting what appeared to be completely mistaken police transmissions, and I’m just left wondering how stupid they think the American people are. Let’s game this out.

According to Cheney and her ridiculous cohorts, there were protesters carrying AR-15s on January 6th, but not a single picture was taken of these armed “insurrectionists” despite there being cameras everywhere. Past that, not a single arrest was made of anyone carrying a rifle during the unrest, and in Washington, DC, that kind of open carry of a rifle would have been illegal. We are also supposed to believe that the police saw these people with AR-15s but didn’t stop Trump from speaking in public in the same area, which just makes no sense at all given protection protocols.

Further, these AR-15-toting insurrectionists apparently did not actually use their weapons, which again makes no sense if their goal was to commit…insurrection.

So cops saw men with rifles at 14th and Constitution right before Trump’s speech and they let him speak anyway?

No one was arrested? The area wasn’t immediately cleared and locked down?

How is that Trump’s fault?

What a condemnation of every LEA in Washington—if true.

This is pretty stunning. I don’t believe there were any arrests for possession of rifles the morning of Jan 6.

But if police witnessed armed protesters near the rally stage and STILL allowed Trump and other officials to speak outside with limited protection, heads should roll.

LOL!

WTF is a 'military backpack'?

That's right up there with 'assault weapon'.
