Besides all that we had so much knowledge stored up we needed to purge. NOBODY needs that much knowledge!
The thing that bothers me is how people start treating you. Like you are some kind of imbecile. But I've decided to use that to my benefit. Old and clueless (even though I'm not) is more advantageous than young and cute. In many ways.
I gotcha about the being treated like an imbecile. On occasion, I remind the guy I work for that I was doing this when he wasn't a twinkle in his daddy's eye. That I was working with computers using punch cards and paper tape, and remember when the PC became something.
It isn't that I can't use the platform, just that I refuse to use it for some things.
If you could have had your life history, your web activity all recorded, your reading habits, music, shopping and banking all in one hand held unit in the 1970s (like a phone), Would you?
While I appreciate the access that tech gives me (when it isn't behind a paywall), I prefer to keep that partitioned.
Likely not, as we were all more conscious of our privacy then, and less likely to put that many eggs in one basket.
