Pres. Biden Details Plan to Pressure States to Embrace LGBTQ+ Gender Ideology President Joe Biden released an executive order last week announcing a “crack down” on conversion therapy and an initiative to persuade states to increase youth access to “gender-affirming healthcare.”
In a fact sheet promoting the executive order and honoring LGBTQ+ Pride Month, Biden bemoaned the growing number of state bills addressing citizens’ concerns about the enforcement and teaching of transgender ideology:
“Over 300 anti-LGBTQI+ laws have been introduced in state legislatures over the past year, and many of them specifically target transgender children and their parents by banning access to medical care and support at school.”
These bills include the Save Women's Sports Act, which prohibits biological males from competing on public school female sports teams, and the Parental Bill of Rights, which bans schools and other public organizations from withholding from parents information about their minor children regarding gender preference, healthcare and education. Other bills target minors’ access to “Gender Affirming Healthcare” (GAC), which usually includes the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.
In his executive order, Biden directs the HHS secretary “to promote expanded access to comprehensive health care for LGBTQI+ individuals, including by working with states on expanding access to gender-affirming care.”
Additionally, the White House fact sheet about the executive order boasts of how the Department of Justice is currently “fighting back against state-level attacks on LGBTQI+ children”:
“The Department of Justice has intervened and filed statements of interest in lawsuits across the country challenging state laws that seek to ban transgender children from accessing gender-affirming health care and participating in school activities as unconstitutional.”
