   President Biden told reporters and Democratic donors Friday that he is a gun owner, but that the Second Amendment is not absolute.

Speaking at a Democratic donor event, Biden told the audience that while he owns two shotguns, he does not believe the Second Amendment covers all forms of firearms.

Additionally, Biden told donors at the fundraising event that the idea of armed school staff was severely misguided. He pointed to the rigor of military training as evidence that it is not easy to "blow someone's brains out."

"The idea we’re going to provide – the way to deal with gun safety is to provide teachers with guns in classrooms?" Biden said at the event. "There’s a reason why the military takes so long to train somebody. It’s not easy to pick up a rifle or a gun and blow somebody’s brains out."

Joe is pathetic.  It doesn't take extensive military training to teach someone how to handle a weapon.  A concealed carry course taught by a police officer or ex-officer should be adequate provided that teachers can prove proficiency with their weapon and know that they need to think about their surroundings at all times.

President Biden told attendees at a Democrat fundraiser Friday that one of the reasons he opposes armed teachers is because it is not easy to “blow someone’s brains out,” FOX News reports.

Biden said, “The idea we’re going to provide – the way to deal with gun safety is to provide teachers with guns in classrooms? There’s a reason why the military takes so long to train somebody. It’s not easy to pick up a rifle or a gun and blow somebody’s brains out.”

On May 31 the New York Post noted White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s comments about Biden being opposed to “hardening schools” in the wake of the Uvalde school shooting.

“I know there’s been conversation about hardening schools. That is not something he believes in,” Jean-Pierre said.

“We are the only country that is dealing with gun violence at the rate that we’re dealing, and other countries have mental health issues. So what’s the problem here? The problem is with guns, and not having legislation to really deal with an issue that is a pandemic here in this country,” she elaborated.

There is a hell of a lot more to military training than firearms qualification.

Relatively little time is spent on the rifle range.

For instance, as part of Basic Military Training (BMT), Air Force trainees are given

Weapons training at BMT now consists of a full training day of four to five hours in classroom and three hours on the range.

One day of 7.5 weeks of basic.
