Miranda Devine dishes on ‘delicious’ details of Durham case, predicts ‘ramifications’ will be ‘momentous’

Journalist Miranda Devine contends that trial of attorney Michael Sussmann on one count of lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation may seem minor, but it has more profound implications because it could lead to failed 2016 Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s alleged role in the Russiagate hoax that hamstrung the Donald Trump administration.
Sussmann is charged with making a false statement to the FBI in relation to “‘a covert communications channel’ between the Trump Organization and Russia’s Alfa Bank, which has ties to the Kremlin,” Fox News previously reported.
Sussmann reportedly told the agency that he wasn’t representing a client at the time.
On the “Fox & Friends” segment Thursday morning, co-host Pete Hegseth noted that prosecutors with Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation presented records alleging that Sussmann billed the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign for time spent meeting with the FBI.
Devine, a Fox News contributor and New York Post columnist who authored the “Laptop from Hell” best-seller told Hegseth that “the details are just delicious the way they’re rolling out. And, you know, there you have a lawyer, as per usual, he’s hoisted on his own petard because he couldn’t help but charge the Clinton campaign $800 per hour…to perpetrate this dirty-tricks campaign against Donald Trump on behalf of Hillary Clinton.”
She continued: “Sussmann is up for misleading, lying, to the FBI. But really, at the heart of this is Hillary Clinton. She sanctioned, she approved this attempt to dirty-up Donald Trump and paint him as an agent of the Kremlin. The ramifications of that dirty trick went on, crippled the Trump presidency, did great damage to this country, was the source of a lot of the rancor and division that we see now.”
