Multiple doors that only open from the inside is the answer.

You will never stop all mass shootings, this is a way to prevent some.

Bingo! Single-point-of-entry, with multiple points-of-egress (i.e., locked against outside access, but freely openable - provided an alarm sounds - from inside).

That only makes sense if one assumes that all hostages are already dead. If that assumption cannot be supported - and the continuing 911 calls from the class room would have negated it - then it is imperative to get in and attempt to save the injured.

19 officers waited in the hallway before getting into the classroom. There were 911 calls from CHILDREN inside the classroom while those officers waited for 40 minutes. Texas DPS director: “It was the wrong decision.”

Police officer close to me just spoke to me. He said the Uvalde police responded out of fear. They are cowards. First car on the scene goes in. But he also said this...
Get used to it. After being demonized for years no one good wants to do the job anymore.
