What I understand (and take it for what it's worth), is Oz had a Trump like epiphany and switched sides on many issues.
Neither (Trump/Oz, et. al) are what I call Class I conservatives like Cruz, Cotton, or DeSantis, but right now everything should be done to destroy McConnell and McCarthy.  Ohterwise we will get more of the same.

Trump is for TRUMP period. However, he was the best POTUS ever as far as the Economy and Foreign Affairs. Other than that he was terrible. If he only would have drained 1 or 2 Swamp players as he said he was going to do and build the Wall he would have been the best ever POTUS. The lack of SWAMP draining was his downfall and will keep him from getting elected again. The mess we are in today is because he did not even try to drain the swamp and very little effort in closing the border. He also was the WORSE judgement of people ever as POTUS. He had and still does not have a TEAM to help him with NAGA policies. Look at DOJ, FBI, and his Cabinet appointments. ALL failures and RINOS.

The Swamp is a phalanx composed of a shield wall of bureaucrats and agency pukes all covering each other's hindparts while shielding the real elected evildoers for a price (promotion). I honestly believe that all of us had underestimated just how pervasive it is in both Parties.

My only interest is that this Republic survives and thrives - that the great nation of my birth will be just as great when I die, that our posterity inherits a bastion of freedom and prosperity.  And I'm not willing to surrender any of that just because I have some personal vendetta against someone.

I agree, but considering that I was born in the 50s, I think I will have to live a long time for the comeback to happen.

Of course, (theoretically) if the GOP were to use its majority (when it has one) to restore the Republic with the zeal and vigor the Democrats are using to tear it down, that could conceivably happen in my lifetime.
