US intel chief warns China ‘working hard’ to prep Taiwan invasion

Top US intelligence officials warned Tuesday that China is “working hard” to ​carry out a military takeover of Taiwan — and Beijing is closely watching Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to gauge the level of America’s potential opposition.

D​irector of National Intelligence Avril Haines told lawmakers on the Senate Armed Services Committee that the threat to Taiwan is “acute.”

​“It’s our view that they [the Chinese] are working hard to effectively put themselves into a position in which their military is capable of taking Taiwan over our intervention,” Haines ​told the panel.

Haines and Defense Intelligence Agency chief Lt. Gen. Scott Berrier added that the US still doesn’t know what the Chinese may have gleaned from President Vladimir Putin’s bloody invasion of Ukraine, in which Russian forces have been largely stymied by fierce resistance from the Kyiv government.

Chinese military surrounds Taiwan in massive ‘rehearsal’ of invasion plans

The Chinese military encircled Taiwan from the east and west, cutting the island off from American and Japanese forces during a large-scale war game which concluded Sunday, Chinese state-run media reported Monday.

China’s Eastern Theater Command executed aerial, naval and ballistic “real force” drills in the waters to the east and southwest of Taiwan from Friday to Sunday, Global Times reported. As the massive Liaoning aircraft carrier fleet moved in from Taiwan’s east, warplanes and additional warships reportedly arrived from the west.

US intel chief warning about what a blind man could see happening with China concerning Taiwan. Gosh I wonder what could have happened in the last 18 months or so to embolden China to this extent?

I wonder what condition they are in to fight?  China will make its move during the next couple of years. They have a world-historic opportunity with Biden in the WH.
