This Marine was nearing college graduation when she died in Kabul. Her sister walked for her instead.

Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo was among 13 U.S. service members killed when a suicide bomber detonated outside Abbey Gate of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul on Aug. 26, 2021.

She was 25-years-old.


While Rosario Pichardo wasn’t able to finish the degree she was taking online, Columbia College in Missouri decided to honor her Saturday at its commencement ceremony, local news station KOMU 8 reported.

Rosario Pichardo’s sister, Rosie, walked at graduation and was presented with a posthumous human services degree by Columbia College President David Russell, according to KOMU 8.

She wasn't just a Sergeant,she was a Staff Sergeant,E-6.

Pretty damn impressive for someone her age.
