Is it a coincidence that this past weekend, Biden took the very unusual step of NOT going to Delaware?

If the Wise Latina leaked the ruling she can be impeached.  If it turns out to her be her clerk that leaked then the FBI gets involved and he's facing federal jail time.

It ain't gonna lead back to a Justice. They ain't that dumb. There will be a penny ante bagholder to take the rap.

If the court allows the illegal leaking of a memo to "taint" a decision already made we will never have another decision unpopular with the left.

Yep. But then, how will we ever know the decision was 'already made'? That assumes one can trust the narrative.

NO! It isn't.  Not after they so recently punted in Texas vs Pennsylvania.

...Which is why I don't trust the narrative... I don't believe the right-facing justices suddenly grew a pair. Alito and Thomas, sure. Gorsuch, Barrett, maybe. Roberts - He ain't had a pair since he got there, and I don't think Kavanaugh is far from Roberts.

Mind you it would take ALL of them.

Would also require successful conviction in the Senate btw.

We've already impeached Samuel Chase, a USSC Justice, way back in the 1700's I think, it died in the Senate I think.

Chief Justice John Roberts confirmed the authenticity of the leaked draft opinion indicating the Supreme Court would upend Roe v. Wade as he announced an investigation into the source of the 'betrayal.'

'To the extent this betrayal of the confidences of the Court was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed. The work of the Court will not be affected in any way,' Roberts wrote in a Tuesday morning statement.

'We at the Court are blessed to have a workforce - permanent employees and law clerks alike - intensely loyal to the institution and dedicated to the rule of law. Court employees have an exemplary and important tradition of respecting the confidentiality of the judicial process and upholding the trust of the Court. This was a singular and egregious breach of that trust that is an affront to the Court and the community of public servants who work here.'

'I have directed the Marshal of the Court to launch an investigation into the source of the leak,' Roberts added.

Roberts said that though the document was authentic, it does not represent the 'final decision' of any members of the court.

This leak is of a "draft" opinion written by Alito in February, right...?

Do the Justices who would be joining him have their names affixed to it?
If so, is Roberts' name there?

My guess is that when this opinion was first written, the original vote was:
5 - to repeal (the 5 justices "on the right", other than Roberts
3 - nay votes (the 3 leftist justices)
1 - undecided (Roberts)

Obviously, the leak is intended to arouse enough rabble to persuade/coerce some justices on the right to change their minds and alter their votes.

These justices WOULD NOT be:
Thomas, Gorsuch, or Alito.
I'm confident their will is strong enough to resist.

They MIGHT be:
Kavanaugh, Barrett, and Roberts.

One would think Kavanaugh had his will steeled by his confirmation hearing. Then again, he was a buddy of Roberts, or something like that?

The left may hope that Barrett can be badgered into submission.
Whether she can or not, is an unknown (for now).

Roberts... well... he's not trustworthy. His flip-flop on obamacare proved that.

Having said this, if the "5 for the right" hold tight, the final ruling is a foregone conclusion. The "leak" is going to kick up a lot of dust, but the damage is already done. Whether it be five to four or six to three, the Roe decision looks to be history.

This was intended to be the final opinion issued in late June.
That's always the case with the controversial/important ones.
But... so long as the votes haven't changed, The Court might as well release it now, and get it over with.

Conservatives will cheer.
But I'm going to make this prediction:
The fall of Roe is going to result in "unintended consequences" for The Right.
We'll see that in the upcoming midterm elections, which may reveal how women "in the middle" and "on the right" really feel about Roe in the privacy of the voting booth.

As was Dredd Scott to the first War Between the States, could this be "1857 all over again" in the current "cold" war that's going on between the red and the blue right now...?

When the nation is in intensive care, this abortion nonsense is nothing but chasing the backyard squirrel. 

They need to wrap FOXNEWS up and get the word out that it's NOT the end of Abortion per se.  It's the end of federal funds for abortion, and it's an individual State that determines if they will be done within their borders.

California and New York and probably Maryland have already stated they will welcome Out-of-State pregnancies and that the State may pick up part of the tab.

Warning! Exactly 30 years ago in May 1992, the initial decision was 5-4 to overturn Roe v. Wade thru Casey. At the last minute, Justice Kennedy changed his vote to continue Roe for another 30 years.

If the rumored trend is true, that would be their business. And Montana will deny abortions. As will Idaho, and Wyoming...

I would take that as a win... partial, but a win nonetheless. The technicality of Life, writ big, requires Constitutional protection. But this would be a win.

However, I don't believe any of it is true. That the entire right leaning contingent in SCOTUS suddenly grew a pair s not likely.
