Republicans in Congress have laid out ample evidence that President Joe Biden’s administration is “erasing immigration enforcement” as they prepare to confront Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas at a hearing this week, according to a memo.
The 60-page document, first reported by the New York Times and later obtained by Breitbart News, is labeled “confidential” and was compiled by House Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).
It was circulated to committee Republicans ahead of the Thursday hearing, which is anticipated to be a tense clash as Biden prepares to end the Title 42 border control on May 23 and as record-breaking surges of illegal migration continue.
In March, U.S. Border Patrol apprehended nearly 210,000 migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border, a 32 percent increase over February and a 24 percent increase over March 2021. The number is a record-high for the Biden administration and a two-decade high for March.
