 Democrats say they will act soon to lower gas prices

House Democrats intend to move in the coming weeks to pass legislation designed to rein in skyrocketing gas prices, the head of the House Democratic Caucus said Wednesday.

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) did not commit his support for a federal gas tax holiday, which has divided Democrats on and off of Capitol Hill.

But he said suspending the gas tax is one of “many” proposals under consideration by party leaders, who have addressed the issue with some urgency in closed-door discussions in the 24 hours since the House returned to Washington from a long Easter recess.

“It’s part of the discussion, and the discussion is ongoing,” Jeffries said of the gas tax holiday. “We are definitely going to act to try to address the geopolitical issues that relate to gas prices being where they are [and] act in terms of some of the supply chain challenges.”

Why haven't they acted sooner?

Maybe, because Democrats need gasoline prices to remain high to further their flailing Global Climate Change agenda?

I don't trust the Dems to pay me Tuesday for a cheeseburger today.

The DCP can't fix anything because they don't know what is causing the problem. Their temporary solutions will fix nothing. They have no idea of supply and demand.

Thankfully they don’t have the votes for a windfall profits tax but I’d like to think the administration wouldn’t try price controls based on the history

Natural gas is being shipped in huge amounts to Europe, im amounts sure to cause more energy shortages in America.  When useful fools works are done, they will stand back and declare; How could this have happened, naturally blind to seeing their own image in the mirrors, and their fingerprints on what caused the debacles.

where oh where did we get the value of the dollar declining?  Oh yeah, you can't blame Biden, blame shift and blame Trump.  So the stooges are fed from the socialist manure pile of blame shift/disinformation.  So regard it as eating delicacies, and swear to it....I more swear at it/them.

Not sure if I can talk about prices, I'm not an economist (taking my cue from that new Supreme Court gal).

But... seems to me that higher prices are the natural result of an imbalance between supply (which is low) and demand (which is higher).

Given:
We know what the dem-communists think about "the supply side". They've restricted it, and will continue to do so.

So...
What does that leave left to manipulate, in order to reduce prices?

If prices are high because demand is high and supply is not...
and
If one cannot (or in the dem-com case, WILL not) increase supply...
then
Perhaps lower demand will result in decreasing prices.

I predict that THAT'S going to be "their ticket".

Hmmmm....
What will they do to reduce demand...?
(I gotz an idea, but I'm not sayin'...)
