Good. The stupid joint-press-conferences falsely called "debates" were always a waste of time.
Real debates, in which the campaigns agree on some issues in which one candidate favors the status quo and the other wants to make radical changes, and for each issue devote a night to it where the candidates make speeches defending their respective positions, then speeches critiquing what the other said, and maybe get to ask each other questions, before summing up (in the reverse order of the first speeches), then do the same on another issue another night, and another... would be worthwhile.
