The dread 1.5 degree target is dead
By David Wojick |April 8th, 2022|Climate|4 Comments

A foolish end to a foolish target– limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees C. That is the warming from 150 years ago, just 0.5 degrees or less from today forward. Of course this is all according to the worthless computer models, but let’s go with the flow.

The massive new IPCC report makes it clear. You can’t get there from here (not that we wanted to). Not by any even reasonably possible means, so the target will be missed (according to the models). What will the alarmists do without their beloved target?

It is all about something called the “carbon budget”. Unlike the climate, and the climate models for that matter, the carbon budget is very simple. It is how much CO2 the human race is allowed to emit in order to stay below the target warming.

Not how much this year, or this decade, or even this century. This is the limit forever. So enjoy it while you can because time is very short, or so says the IPCC report. In fact time is up, over and past.

Why is it these studies don't seek input from Greta Thunberg, the greatest meteorlogical physicist ever?? :silly:

The graphic makes me wonder how much of the decrease in CO2 is the result of marine organisms making shells and the formation of Limestone as a result--something that happens in warm (as in tropical) shallow (<300') water best.

It would be interesting to see a correlation graph with the average and mean ocean depth - assuming that these would be reasonable proxies for how relatively shallow or deep the world's oceans are.

The mesozoic era would have been the period where dinosaurs (allegedly) migrated to the same geographical locations (Texas, the Middle East, Kazakstan, etc.) to die and turn into oil, thus locking up carbon deep underground.  Yet according to the chart above, CO2 levels were substantially higher at the end of that era than they are now.

Also, conspicuously missing from any data representation of climate change data is the source of global warming itself - the sun, its cyclical nature, and its relation to the everchanging elliptical orbit of the earth.  In other words, radiation energy from the sun is not constant.  Yet in any model, it always gets treated as if it is.

Temperatures themselves are skewed too by the fact that NWS reporting stations built '40's ad '50's were built in rural and suburban locations.  These locations are now often in cities, and heat island effect is impacting the numbers.

No where does any climatologist take that in effect.

An honest media would ask if there was so much honest concern for climate change, and ocean levels rising, how come so many wealthy and powerful people are still buying beachfront property.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

It is also disingenuous to assess 600,000 years of ice core data for levels of CO2 O18 isotope, and then mix that data in with atmospheric samples taken in the last 50 years.  The two sample sets are not the same and should not be treated as such.
