Population Continues "Natural Decline" In 2021, Census Notes
« on: March 24, 2022, 06:21:55 pm »
More than 73% of U.S. counties (...) experienced natural decrease in 2021, up from 45.5% in 2019 and 55.5% in 2020, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Vintage 2021 estimates of population and components of change released Thursday.

Natural decrease occurs when there are more deaths than births in a population over a given time period. In 2021, fewer births, an aging population and increased mortality – intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic–contributed to a rise in natural decrease. The statistics released today include population estimates and components of change for the nation’s 384 metropolitan statistical areas, 543 micropolitan statistical areas and 3,143 counties.

In 2021, all counties in Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island experienced natural decrease.

Somebody's lying here.

Where did the 2,000,000 million illegals who invaded across the southern border go...?

Having and raising children is becoming more unaffordable for paycheck earning Americans.

Perhaps they just moved out of those states/counties. Shutdowns, crime, no jobs and high taxes tend to cause people to reevaluate where they want to live.

Irrelevant to that particular statistic. It only measures births vs. deaths, completely excluding migration.

In other words, women have basically stopped having children.

That statistic excludes migration. The article goes on to discuss the effects of migration, noting that it makes up the difference in population changes in most places.
