In 2017, she sentenced a man to four years in prison after he had fired a military-style rifle inside a Washington pizzeria. He had been deluded by a false internet conspiracy theory, known as Pizzagate, that Hillary Clinton was operating a pedophile ring there.

The only fault I can find with that one is she should have had him committed to a mental institution instead of sent to a prison.

Lindsey Graham had breakfast with Biden yesterday morning.  The topic of the nominee must have come up since Graham has been lobbying hard for Judge Michelle Childs.  Note Graham's wording above - "If media reports are accurate, and Judge Jackson has been chosen".  This statement hints that Biden did not indicate to Graham that he was choosing Jackson, and that Biden was not identified as the selector of Jackson.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), the former Senate Judiciary Committee chairman, said in a statement on Friday that the “radical left won,” referring to Joe Biden’s choice of Ketanji Brown Jackson as the nominee to replace Justice Stephen Breyer on the Supreme Court.

That could be a reference to rumors that the far-left “dark money” group Arabella Advisors has been pushing Jackson, funded by ultra-left activists like George Soros.

Jackson serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit after receiving confirmation in 2021 with a vote of 53-47. Three Republicans, Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) voted to confirm her in 2021.

Graham lamented Biden’s pick for the Supreme Court, having urged the president to nominate Michelle Childs, a judge for the U.S. District Court of South Carolina. He explained:

If media reports are accurate, and Judge Jackson has been chosen as the Supreme Court nominee to replace Justice Breyer, it means the radical Left has won President Biden over yet again. The attacks by the Left on Judge Childs from South Carolina apparently worked. I expect a respectful but interesting hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee. There should be no rush to confirmation.

Indeed, how can there BE "a confirmation", when there is NO VACANCY YET on the Supreme Court ???
Yes, Breyer has announced that he's going to "retire", but he's not retired YET -- he's still sitting as an active justice on The Court.

There should be no confirmation vote until Breyer has VACATED his seat and is, officially, "retired".

Going further, there should not even be confirmation hearings until "a true vacancy" exists.

The Republicans have the absolute power to enforce this, because the Senate Judiciary Committee cannot proceed with a vote (or even hearings?) unless there are at least two Republican members present.

No Republican committee members present = no vote, and perhaps no hearings.

The Pubbies can't really STOP this one from being seated.
But... they CAN "slow things down".

They should do so.
