We must break the propaganda spell and realize that we have the strength of numbers on our side.

But what if the appearance of a great, insuperable divide is vastly overstated or even being deliberately amplified by forces that benefit from division? The gulf on certain significant matters is substantial, to be sure, and yet when we turn to look one by one at some of the most high-profile issues, we see that the split may be greatly overstated.

There is a great deal of talk about transsexual athletes, especially when men and boys seek a shortcut to the awards podium by competing against women and girls. The reality, however, is that a strong majority of Americans—62 percent—hold the commonsense view that athletes shouldn’t get to compete in categories other than those corresponding to their birth genders, while only 34 percent have a different view.

The streaming of illegal immigrants across the U.S.-Mexico border has become the subject of apparently fierce debate, and yet, looking behind the headlines, a clear 71 percent of Americans believe it is unacceptable for people to enter this country illegally.

“Defunding the police” is a policy proposal that has been headline news ever since the BLM protests and riots of summer 2020. However, this one isn’t even close: 84 percent of Americans oppose defunding, with 47 percent believing that funding for police should actually be increased. Only 15 percent favor less funding. This may be in no small part because, as another recent poll found, 77 percent of registered voters are “extremely” or “very” concerned about rising crime, including, for example, 74 percent of voters in traditionally liberal bastions such as New York City. 

Amidst all the hubbub over critical race theory in our schools, clear majorities of Americans believe that schools should be teaching the truth about both slavery (78 percent) and racism (73 percent). But 86 percent of Americans also believe that schools are going beyond the facts and pushing a problematic political agenda, with 63 percent considering this a major problem; relatedly, 74 percent of Americans believe that race has become too much of a focus in our schools, with 49 percent deeming this a major problem as well.

We must break the spell and realize that we have the strength of numbers on our side. Then, we need to overcome the collective action problem that afflicts all diffuse majorities and band together to fight a culture war to take back our institutions from the sinister forces that have co-opted them.

Not that I disagreee with the op-ed, but one's a description, and the other is an action verb. 

More accurate representation would be that this country is highly divided due to the socialist left hijacking most aspects of our society and governance.

But I do like the imagery. Hijacking as inference is a violent act.  In idelological terms this is correct.  There is no negotiation or common ground  in their intent.  They want this country to be socialist, and they are hell bent on cutting us off at the knees to reach that goal. 

Those who supposedly represent us in the GOP has effectively brought a knife to a gun fight.  Until they reach the ephiphanal moment that they understand the term "bipartisanship" means capitulation, we are screwed. Until we have a seismic shift in this area, we will hamstrung ....   forever.

2020 and 2022 have taught us valuable life lessons.   North America treats BLM and Antifa terrorist with more respect, dignity, and action for their radical agenda than what they do for a large band of truckers, who armed with Bouncey Castles are only asking that their government's allowance for basic rights. 

The pent up anger of conservatives is like a dormant Volcano.  Right now you will see green pastures, flowers, vinyards, and grazing animals around them.  Then in a once in a millennial event.....

That thought has crossed my mind too.

With a complicit media, they might have the same success demonizing the truckers, and turning so called independent voters against conservative POV's.

The Progressive movement is what has "hijacked" America, having intentionally set about to infiltrate, dominate and control all of our social institutions.

Nor have Progressives limited themselves to America as a subject of their efforts; the entire Western world has been targeted, including our neighbors to the North.

While the Democrat Party has been the primary political home for Progressives, many Republicans have gone along for the ride during the past century, accepting the ideological premises of those whose goal is not truly "justice" or ""equality", but the social, cultural and political transformation of the Western world.

The Progressive project has always been to move away from free enterprise and limited government, and drive instead toward collectivism and authoritarian government.

One of the effective tools they have employed in this effort is to divide people by class, race, region, ethnic origin, and more recently, by gender and sexual orientation.

In a society of sovereign individuals acting under the rule of law - as what America was designed to be - cooperation and acceptance of personal differences are naturally rewarded.

In a society dominated by identity politics and fueled by governmental preferences, the natural result is animosity, resentment and anger.

And that is right where the Left wants us: divide et vince.

With socialists satisfied they have pounded the final nails in Americas coffin,why is futile penny late and a dollar short weakly coming to life?  Whats the point at this late date ?? ? Can zombies be brought back to life?  The fight was late into it last Presidential election, when Lewinskys still wanted to kneel to democrats and turn against Trump.  The commies left, their work being done, leaving the Lewinskys to clean their blue dresses.
