Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Approves Up to 700 National Guard Troops for Trucker Convoy

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has authorized an order to mobilize as many as 700 D.C. National Guard members ahead of an upcoming trucker convoy to the nation’s capital.

The National Guard said in a press statement that Austin approved requests from the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) for D.C. National Guard assistance with traffic control during “First Amendment demonstrations expected in the city in the coming days.”

“The people who live, work and visit the District are part of our community, and their safety is our first mission priority,” said Maj. Gen. Sherrie L. McCandless, DCNG commanding general, in the statement.

“Our MPD and USCP partners have asked for our help in ensuring people can demonstrate peacefully and safely, andwe stand ready to assist,” she said.

What's next moving tanks and heavy equipment against the truckers, shoot anyone that doesn't comply? I expect Captain Dementia, really his handlers, to look at the abuses of little Justine Castro in Canada and say 'hold my beer'. After getting a taste of killing and beating their opponents on J6 they have been itching for an excuse to ramp it up and also a reason to clamp down on voting since Covid has gone bust.

Well, this has been brewing for decades. 

The ruling elite no longer worry about the scotus or congress overturning them, the constitution no longer is relevant, the cabal of dictators are working in concert to enslave the world so it is now the American people vs ???
We all keep looking for peaceful ways out of this mess but everyday I see that possibility waning...

MY fear is it is too late to keep the protests peaceful. Big Massa Goobermint will no  longer allow peaceful protests. He seems determined to make this a fight.

And,of course,the people behind this will get on their private airplanes or yachts and flee the country for some safe haven until the fighting ends,only returning when it is safe for them to return and take control again.

Or at least that is their plan.

IF we MUST fight,we MUST win,and when we win,we MUST track those buttholes down and execute every freaking one of them that was involved at any decision-making level.

PLEASE take note that I am NOT suggesting whole families be put in prison or executed for the decisions and actions of the head of that family. I AM insisting that EVERY family member that was employed by the family businesses be given a VERY  close look at as related to their activities and business decisions,and be treated accordingly by a court.

IF they were in a decision-making position as related to national and international business dealing,EVERY detail of EVERY decision should be closely looked at for UN-Constitutional decisions that would have or did take away freedoms guaranteed under our Bill of Rights as well as any decisions that would,under normal circumstances,be deemed as illegal or criminal in any respect.

We MUST be VERY careful about how we do this and to the punishments we hand out,though. Above all,we do NOT want to turn into a slightly different version of THEM.

We MUST seek justice,not revenge. There may be a fine line between the two for some people,but there is still a line that can be seen.

I agree. I think the DC protest should consist of a moving line of trucks, surrounding the capital on the beltway, staying in motion, intermingled with local and long haul freight. The burden of proof would be on anyone interdicting that convoy, the penalties for disruption of trade would be on the governmental entities as they pulled over both loaded and empty trucks, because an empty truck can be on its way to pick up its next load. Every disruption of the supply chain carried out by local, federal, state, and DC enforcers is on them, and that needs to be shouted form the rooftops. The increase in traffic would be enough to make a mess of things there, but recall one salient difference between those who live in the DC Metro Area vs the rest of the country.

To folks around DC, the government is a provider (gov't contracts, jobs, money, customers), not the ravenous wolf pack those of us in flyover country see, come to eat up our substance and rob us of our hard earned prosperity, often done in SPITE of government proclamations, edicts, rules, and regulations which make no sense here. The support of the local population is not likely to be even a fraction of what it would be in real America, where only a relatively tiny fraction would see this as anything but an impediment to getting to their government (or government contracted) jobs.

That fundamental difference in perspective may herald a less enthusiastic response from the locals, and may have been part of the response in Ottowa as well.

Just driving through Prince George's County (MD) has inherent risks, and as for other parts of DC, well, think Reginald Denny. Those 'usual suspects' are unlikely to be tracked down or prosecuted by the current enforcement entities in DC or that county, like the rioters of 2020, and largely for the same reasons. Stay on major thoroughfares, and keep out of the neighborhoods. It's too easy to get boxed in in the latter.

That's not including any "regulatory" or other checkpoints used against truckers, which would further impede traffic flow.

One thing I would watch out for are 'suicide' drivers who cut off trucks and slam on their brakes to cause an accident.

Every driver should have at least one dash cam going at all times.

It may well be real, but it is handing the government a tremendous opportunity to turn the event in a wholly compliant media into some sort of 'terrorist' act, or at least give this that appearance.

The protest is to be held behind enemy lines, so to speak, and I do not believe the DC population nor the outlying communities (NOVA, intercity MD) or the bedroom communities which see the government as employer, provider of contracts, business partner, and wonderful benefactor, will play the same as those same protests would in the midcontinent where the view of Government is one of edicts from afar that negatively affect most who are trying to be productive.

I think this is very true. In addition, if I am in an ambulance trying to get to a hospital due to a life threatening event...and can't get thru the traffic it will turn people against this protest. I believe there is a good way to protest but I'm not sure what it is right now.

Find conspicuous places to park where the convoys can be seen, but will not impede or endanger.

Park there!
Be seen!
Be heard, without causing high levels of disruption in people's lives.
Fly State flags with the American Flags, and let people see this is from all over without having to read license plates. 
If the object is to get attention, do that without inviting a 'spanking'.
Admittedly, this is not the same as a kid having a tantrum, but for the sake of the protest, don't do anything that can be portrayed as such.

Bringing attention to the issues in such a way as to not invite overweening criticism (propaganda, incidents) is vital.

The 12 at 12 concept is one such, where trucks pull over to the side of the road at noon for 12 minutes, then resume travel.

Look for access roads into DC heavily patrolled by police or guardsman.

And they will not make the mistake done in Ottawa of inadvertently being seen manhandling those arrested.

They will erect temporary 'shelters' and those arrested will be escorted into these outside of public view so they punishment will not be filmed.

If police are forced to wear body cams, why don't the those patrolling these protests be forced to do the same?
