These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence. Mass casualty attacks and other acts of targeted violence conducted by lone offenders and small groups acting in furtherance of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances pose an ongoing threat to the nation. While the conditions underlying the heightened threat landscape have not significantly changed over the last year, the convergence of the following factors has increased the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the threat environment: (1) the proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions; (2) continued calls for violence directed at U.S. critical infrastructure; soft targets and mass gatherings; faith-based institutions, such as churches, synagogues, and mosques; institutions of higher education; racial and religious minorities; government facilities and personnel, including law enforcement and the military; the media; and perceived ideological opponents; and (3) calls by foreign terrorist organizations for attacks on the United States based on recent events.

The Biden Department of Homeland Security is not focused on the record 2 million illegal aliens who crossed the open US southern border in the last 12 months. The Biden DHS is not focused on the 100,000 deaths from overdose last year as illegal drugs were smuggled across the border in record amounts.

That’s not an issue. In fact, it’s part of their plan.

Instead, the Biden DHS declared a heightened terrorism threat due to “several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors.”

The DHS published this terror alert on Monday. The number one item of concern is so-called fake news.

That headline sounds like a joke.

It’s not.

The White House has begun an extraordinary assault on free speech in America. It is no longer content merely to force social media companies to suppress dissenting views. It appears to be setting the stage to use federal police powers.

How else to read the “National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin” the Department of Homeland Security issued on Tuesday? Its first sentence:

SUMMARY OF THE TERRORISM THREAT TO THE UNITED STATES: The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories... [emphasis added]

You read those words right.

The government now says “misleading narratives” are the most dangerous contributor to terrorism against the United States.

The bulletin’s next sentence:

These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence. [emphasis added]

You read those words right too.

A federal agency says that to “undermine public trust in government institutions” is now considered terrorism. Speech doesn’t even have to encourage rebellion or violence generally, much less against anyone specific. It just has to “potentially inspire” violence.

Potentially.

Later, the bulletin explains exactly what speech the government now considers a terrorist danger:

Widespread online proliferation of false or misleading narratives regarding unsubstantiated widespread election fraud and COVID-19.

There’s that word misleading again.

Who’s defining “misleading”? Misleading to whom? Misleading how? ...

Any proliferating “narratives” the Biden administration deems “false or misleading” qualifies as a “terrorism threat” according to a recent National Terrorism Advisory System bulletin released by the Biden administration’s DHS, and has received sharp backlash online after warning that Americans are expressing unwelcome beliefs on issues such as the Chinese coronavirus and election fraud pose “an ongoing threat to the nation.”

The bulletin, issued on Monday by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), addressed the “Terrorism Threat to the U.S. Homeland.”

In order to define what is "false or misleading", someone has to define the truth. In this case, imagine Fecebook's "factcheckers" or Snopes as the oracle of all that is "truth", defining all else, including dissenting scientific views as "false" or "misinformation". We have already had a taste of this where Federal Agencies knew that certain therapies were effective against COVID, yet the narrative claimed these to be ineffective and even dangerous. They were, indeed, dangerous--dangerous to the web of lies being passed off, collectively, as the 'narrative and the seizure of liberty being conducted using the narrative as an excuse.

The Ministry of Truth has arrived.

this is a direct affront to the First Amendment in which our right to dissent is supposed to be a protected Civil Right--an unalienable Right. That original idea would let arguments live or die by their merits, in the face of the mortal combat of reasonable discussion and evidence one way or another. But even now, that evidence and those arguments are being suppressed by some social media platforms and by the government, itself. Given the power to decide what is "truth" (especially considering that "truth" may be at issue), those discussions will, by force of law, be ended.

It is inevitable that those who most benevolently define truth will, sooner or later, define that 'truth' to their personal or collective benefit, rendering "truth" to something they define, whether that has any relation to reality whatsoever.

For those of us in flyover country, this is just an extension of the Beltway Bubble that is DC, a systemic disconnect from the reality we know where water actually flows downhill, and where lovely theories meet a brutal death at the hands of natural law.

On Monday the Department of Homeland Security released a National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin. There aren’t many such bulletins, so in theory this is a rather big deal. The title is Summary of Terrorism Threat to the U.S. Homeland. It begins, presumably, with what is most important:

    The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors.

We all know what “misinformation” means in liberal speak. Misinformation is thinking that the Democratic Party engages in substantial voter fraud. Misinformation is questioning why normal public life is prohibited to the unvaccinated, when vaccination prevents neither contracting nor spreading covid. Misinformation is anything that contradicts or questions the party line of the moment that emanates from the Centers for Disease Control and other government agencies, however confused and inconsistent the party line may be.

As for “false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories,” I hazard the wild guess that the Department of Homeland Security is not referring to the most notorious false narrative and conspiracy theory, the Russia collusion hoax. And I don’t think the Biden administration is looking into the New York Times and the Washington Post as sources of “misleading narratives and conspiracy theories.”

    These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence.

When it comes to exacerbating social friction, sowing discord and undermining public trust in government, and thereby encouraging unrest that results in acts of violence, we don’t have to look far. That is what Black Lives Matter does. That is what Antifa does. And we are not talking about “potential” violence here, we are talking about the real thing. Dozens of murders, countless assaults, arson that has burned down mile after mile of small businesses. So, is DHS warning against continued violence from Black Lives Matter and Antifa? Are those organizations being infiltrated and monitored by federal agents? I hope so, but I doubt it.

At the same time, undermining trust in government institutions isn’t always a bad thing. I think that trust in agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and the Biden Department of Justice needs to be undermined. Agencies that have proved themselves untrustworthy shouldn’t be trusted. In the eyes of the Biden administration, is criticizing government agencies just one small step removed from terrorism?

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently released their latest terrorism threat bulletin in which the department warns against “the proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions.” The bulletin, which was issued on Monday, blamed an “online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis-, dis- and mal-information introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors.”

“These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence,” reads the bulletin. The DHS also warned that “misinformation” could lead to “mass casualty attacks.”

The DHS listed “widespread online proliferation of false or misleading narratives regarding unsubstantiated widespread election fraud and COVID-19,” as two sources of what they call “MDM”, or misinformation. “Grievances associated with these themes inspired violent extremist attacks during 2021,” the memo continued, failing to provide examples. The memo further stated that loosening of COVID restrictions could lead to violent attacks. “COVID-19 mitigation measures—particularly COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates—have been used by domestic violent extremists to justify violence since 2020 and could continue to inspire these extremists to target government, healthcare, and academic institutions that they associate with those measures.”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) warned Americans on Monday that as COVID-19 restrictions are dropped, there is an increased risk for “acts of violence” such as mass shootings.

“The United States Remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several actors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories,” the DHS warned.

“As COVID-19 restrictions continue to decrease nationwide, increased access to commercial and government facilities and the rising number of mass gatherings could provide increased opportunities for individuals looking to commit acts of violence to do so, often with little or no warning,” the bulletin says.

“Meanwhile. COVID-19 mitigation measures – particularly COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates – have been used by domestic violent extremists to justify violence since 2020 and could continue to inspire these extremists to target government, healthcare, and academic institutions that they associate with those measures,” it continues.

Yep. As time and investigation has proven, the "narrative" has been consistently composed of Misinformation, Disinformation, and misleading statements (lies), as well as Malinformation like "the unvaccinated are spreading COVID".

Project Veritas obtained documents that show that DARPA was aware that Hydroxychloroquine, Ivermectin, and Interferon were effective treatments as early as April of 2020.

Talk about a coordinated campaign of Government officials, members of the Medical Community, and mass (and "social") Media to try to maintain a narrative otherwise, and there is your terrorist event, a true conspiracy (or at least collusion) involving multiple parties, for over a year, which cost hundreds of thousands of people their lives. There are your domestic terrorists, not truck drivers honking horns or people who refuse to get experimental shots that do not work to prevent the disease.

Either it was late 2020 or around early 2021 when one of my coworkers wondered out loud when these restrictions would end. I told her only when the citizens demand them to end. Once governments got a hold of these newfound powers, they were never gonna give them up very easily
