Guns are among the items that have been stolen from cargo containers on railroad tracks in Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore said Monday.

"People were ... breaking into these containers and stealing firearms, tens of firearms,” Moore told the Police Commission. "That gave us the great concern as a source again of further violence in the city as people were capitalizing on the transport of these containers with having little or no policing or security services there."

Moore said that on Thursday, the day Gov. Gavin Newsom showed up to help bag debris and decry the thefts, the LAPD arrested six people who had been under surveillance for crimes related to the train break-ins.

CONCERNED?  CONCERNED?  That's the best the police can do?  They want to take everyone's weapons in Mejifornia but they're CONCERNED when guns are stolen from trains?  This is a great example of liberal nonsense when in comes to guns. 9999hair out0000

LOS ANGELES — More than 80 newly manufactured guns were among the items stolen from freight trains near Los Angeles in recent months, local police officials say.

The pilfered firearms, which included at least 36 pistols and 46 semi-automatic shotguns, were taken from a container car that was burglarized in August. The shipment’s destination was Tennessee, the Los Angeles police officials said.

Only two have been recovered thus far, they said.

Los Angeles police announced this week that guns were among the items stolen in the recent spate of train thefts, but specific figures were not provided.

More than 80 guns stolen?  HOW MANY MORE THAN 80 were stolen?  81, 150, 500?  As far as I know, trains don't have LTL (Less than Trailer Load) so these would likely be large quantities of weapons.  How many times has this happened?  This is an FBI issue, not a police issue.  What do they have to say? 8888madkitty
