Due to freezing weather expected to hit locally, Laredo ISD and United ISD have both decided to cancel classes for Friday, Jan. 21, the districts announced Thursday morning.

The day will be designated as a "bad weather day," meaning that students and staff will not have to report to classes or work sites. The LISD Central Office and all campuses will also be closed.

United ISD issued a similar statement later that morning. According to the district, remote learning, outdoor sporting events and grab & go meals will be also be canceled Friday. The UISD tax office will also be closed.
