I beginning to lean towards NY being more screwed up than CA.

NYC to grant 800K noncitizens right to vote; state GOP blasts bill as 'worst idea out of New York City Democrats ever'

New York City is poised to become the largest place in the country to grant noncitizens the right to vote in local elections, the Associated Press reported.

A city council measure that is expected to be ratified on Thursday with a veto-proof margin will allow legally documented, voting-age residents the ability to cast ballots in elections for mayor, city council, and other municipal offices.

Under the legislation, noncitizens will not be able to vote in federal elections that determine the president or members of Congress or state elections that determine the governor or state lawmakers.

At present, the legislation would affect more than 800,000 residents of the city who, though they are not citizens, are legal green card holders or have the right to work in the United States.

The AP reported that "little stands in the way of the effort becoming law," given its broad support within the city council and its passive support from Democratic New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. The mayor has raised concerns about the bill's legality and argued that it will undermine the “value of citizenship," but has said he will not veto it...............

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

No city which allows non-U.S. citizens to vote should receive U.S. government funds

Next week I am going to file a bill to make that the law— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) December 10, 2021

The big difference between the Dims and the typical Republican is that the Dims will do ANYTHING to win and remain in power,even if it means destroying America.

Sometimes I honestly think destroying America is their actual goal.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!

OK, time to propose a new Constitutional amendment:
====
This Constitution prescribes that only citizens may vote in all elections conducted within the United States. This includes elections for federal offices of The United States, elections for State offices in the Several States, and all municipal and local elections conducted within the borders of The United States.

Elections will be conducted only on Election Day as prescribed by this Constitution.

All ballots in all elections will be paper ballots cast by individual voters at their respective polling locations. Electronic means may be used to tabulate vote counts.

Provisional ballots of any kind are prohibited by this Constitution.

The use of the United States Mail shall not be permitted for the collection of ballots, with the exception of absentee ballots.

There shall be no use of absentee ballots without the presentation of individual need, subject to strict scrutiny by the registrar of voters.

All citizens of the United States will be required to produce identification before voting.

How's that hit ya?

@danarubinstein

On Saturday night, following a firestorm of bad press about some of his hiring decisions, @ericadamsfornyc says he will not veto the non-citizen voting bill (this one: (https://nytimes.com/2021/12/09/nyregion/noncitizens-voting-rights-nyc.html)
