Ghislaine Maxwell Lawyers Demand Retrial over Juror ‘Sexual Abuse’ Admissions

Simon Kent 6 Jan 2022

Lawyers for British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell argued Wednesday she has grounds to call for a new trial after a juror confessed to media outlets he drew on his own experience of being sexually abused to persuade other jurors who doubted witnesses.

Maxwell was found guilty last week of grooming underage girls to be sexually abused by the late American millionaire Jeffrey Epstein, as Breitbart News reported.

The juror said he told his 11 fellow jurors that like some of Epstein’s victims, he had suffered sexual abuse as a child.

The man, who asked to be identified by his first and middle name, Scotty David, revealed he shared his experiences after others had questioned the recollections from two of Maxwell’s accusers.

Were questions about sexual abuse part of the voir dire, and if so, did this juror fail to answer truthfully?

According to the story, the questionnaire did ask if the potential juror had ever been "victimized",  two juror's
failed to answer the question correctly.  Apparently the Juror in question spent time telling the others about what happened to him,
The other juror has also been sexually assaulted and also used his experience to help swing the jury.

Then the jury's decision may have in fact been tainted to the point of requiring a new trial.  We shall see what happens; however, I am guessing that the prosecution will somehow find that it just doesn't have the "time" to go through a new trial, and this will effectively result in a dismissal with prejudice for her.
