Focus on COVID-19 treatments, not just vaccinations
Washington Examiner, Dec 18, 2021

At this point in our battle against COVID-19, there are two plain truths we must keep at the center of our planning.

The first is that the entire healthcare community (science, advocacy, public health, medicine, and bio-pharmaceutical) is exploring and researching effective therapies to manage, lessen, and stamp out the impact of the coronavirus. Treatment options are becoming more available for patients with moderate to severe symptoms and for hospitalized patients.

The second truth is that COVID-19 and all its future variants are endemic. We’re going to be living with the coronavirus from now on. We live in a new era in which there are simply more disease risks than in recent history. It is not possible to return to zero-COVID.

Fortunately, the available data suggest that COVID-19’s effects on our health are waning as its variants become more virulent. Therefore, let’s follow the science as our innovative biopharmaceutical sector develops newer, more accessible, and less expensive therapies to treat, rather than vainly attempting to eradicate, COVID-19.

Vaccines have already come to market — they did so at warp speed. With the emergence of the omicron variant, the United States has just gone through its fastest uptake of a vaccine in our history. However, public health officials are now telling us that we’re not fully vaccinated without a booster shot. Where is our chance to get back to normal? More than 200 million people in the U.S. are now fully vaccinated, but cases (and deaths) are rising. As the Washington Post reports: "More than two-thirds of the eligible U.S. population has received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while some 24 percent have been fully vaccinated with a booster dose, according to CDC data."

It is evident that the healthcare community needs to refocus on COVID-19 treatments and therapeutics. This is where our chance lies to move away from the constant threat of restrictions, lockdowns, and mandates.

How did this voice of reason slip through?
EVERY potential treatment mentioned by Trump got the axe in the MSM, followed on hard by "studies" that were designed to show failure or adverse effects.
The only treatments not under fire from the media were expensive, and one of questionable efficacy with the nasty side effect of causing kidney damage.

Different approaches to treatment, from the prophylactic, to early onset, to use of decongestants and antihistamines in later stages to reduce the effects of viral damage were either panned in the media,  attacked with the mass hysteria trolling of social media, or or simply made very difficult to obtain (without people who can testify to efficacy, there is no "proof").

With a vaccine a year away at a minimum, the search for treatments should have been conducted in a rational, fair, and scientific manner, assessing efficacy for the appropriate phase of the disease, in full regimens, including supplements. That research should have been welcomed, if on no other basis, for its potential to save lives.

Yet, amazingly, only those who broke with the medical establishment (a rude awakening for many Americans) had the fortitude to test and develop treatments, and still, those treatments are denied in media and by the medical establishment.

The real question is, simply: "Why?"

It is difficult to believe the Democrats were not desperate enough to try to steal the past election, despite some denying what appears to have been an obvious theft.
In order to do so, they needed mechanisms which would permit manipulation of vote totals far beyond what little 'fix' Hillary had been able to put in in 2016.
That meant something truly novel. In this case, a coronavirus exported to China from Chapel Hill, developed there with funding from NIAID, Was this part of some diabolical plan, or just an inadvertent crisis that was taken advantage of? I can't prove one way or the other, but in order to utilize this crisis for the purpose of making sweeping and profound changes to our electoral system rules, it was essential to create intense levels of fear in the general population, bordering on, and at times, in places, reaching into the realm of mass hysteria.

Despite attempts by POTUS to contain the virus, and to keep it outside our country, other highly placed politicians countermanded that advice and promoted behaviour which would be guaranteed to enhance the spread of the new virus, in some cases requiring by decree the exposure of vulnerable and captive populations to the virus with predictably deadly results. The Media did their part, dutifully reporting real and projected predictions of universal doom, with the result being the population demanded the loss of rights, business, and liberty in exchange for an illusion of safety, something still being done, even in complete disregard to information which would contraindicate the more draconian measures in place.

Mail in voting, the most vulnerable to fraud was widespread, and counts which ranged from improbable to insanely impossible were produced after simultaneous interruptions in key states, counts which achieved the 'win' for Democrats, often by slim margins.

Mission accomplished.

But that still left the tarbaby of the virus, against which the shots were not proving to be an effective mechanism for the elimination of the virus.
To turn about and admit that any of the proposed treatments are effective now EXPOSES THE ESTABLISHMENT LIES used to keep the panic going so the election could be stolen.

It would take no longer to connect those dots to the election, the panic, the money, than it did from the 2015 paper with two researchers from the Wuhan Institute of Virology to the release (accidental or otherwise) of the virus from the lab in China.

But now, even though it is far from too late to save lives, the narrative has been set.
No matter how wrong leftists may be, they always double down.
Especially when admitting that tens of thousands, if not millions, of lives could have been longer, but were not as a direct result of trying to maintain panic, then and now, to gain and keep political power in a move that only adds lines to the crimes against humanity already committed.

Why do something different if what we're doing isn't working?

Maybe, if we double down on failure, we'll get success, like the New York Jets have done perennially.

The treatment that Trump was given - Remdesividir - has now been shown not to provide any effectiveness against Covid.  I have wondered if his white house physicians knew that already before prescribing it.

I believe it may be linked to kidney damage as well.

Where is President Biden’s version of Operation Warp Speed for approving new treatments, producing more treatments that work, or getting more tests?

Biden’s only strategy is illegal mandates and demonizing Americans who choose not to get the vaccine.

Pure incompetence.

Well, those nasty Trump supporters were first out the gate with the best early onset treatments, and they just can't acknowledge that those work without admitting they were WRONG.

(Not to mention that likely hundreds of thousands were hospitalized or died because those treatments were made generally unavailable).

So, no, any concentration on treatments would mean a review of how wrong they were about the very treatments they have pushed to ban, and that just isn't going to happen.

Our current medical establishment is not aware that any treatments exist.  My SIL has Covid and called her doctor to get him to prescribe treatment.  He refused to offer ivermectin or monoclonal antibodies.  And he knows her insurance won't cover $3,000 [xxxx]sivir treatments.

That line is total batshit stupid wrong.  For one thing, we already have been living with coronaviruses for decades, so now we have just another strain of endemic coronavirus to add to the pre-existing list.

Big deal.
