Florida Job Growth Rate 6 Times Faster than the Nation’s

Hannah Bleaub18 Dec 2021

Florida’s job growth rate was six times faster than the country’s as a whole in November, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced on Friday.

“Our job growth rate is six times faster than the rest of the nation because we’ve worked hard to keep Florida open and protect the jobs of individual Floridians,” DeSantis said, attributing the success to pro-freedom policies which have allowed Floridians to continue to work while blue states, many of which existed in extended lockdowns, continue to implement coercive policies, forcing people to choose between their jobs and a shot. DeSantis went on to say:

--- Quote ---Because we have protected their livelihoods, Floridians are confident in finding work and operating their own businesses. We will continue to focus on our state’s foundation of freedom to ensure that Florida remains a leader in economic growth and Floridians are able to succeed.

Texas and Florida Added More Than Half The Nation’s New Jobs In November

--- Quote ---You may have heard that the America added an anemic 210,000 jobs in November, which was (as has become standard in the Biden era) much less than “experts” predicted.

The news wasn’t great, but Texas did well:

Employment in Texas has reached nearly 13 million non-agricultural jobs, eclipsing the pre-pandemic high set in February of 2020.

From October, the unemployment rate dropped 0.2 percent with the addition of 75,100 jobs. Since November of last year, 698,700 jobs have been added to the rolls.

“By reaching nearly 13 million jobs last month, Texas has surpassed our pre-pandemic employment levels — a remarkable achievement and testament to our welcoming business climate and strong workforce,” Governor Greg Abbott said in a release.

According to the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), Amarillo continues to post the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 3.1 percent. Austin-Round Rock follows closely behind at 3.2 percent.

Also crowing about adding jobs: Florida governor Ron DeSantis, whose state added 50,000 jobs:

Florida added over 50,000 new jobs in the month of November, a much faster rate than the nation, which added 210,000 jobs in November. pic.twitter.com/7LOG5ZipAY

75,100 + 50,000 = 125,100. So just shy 60% of jobs added in November came from two states known for low taxes, light regulation and general economic freedom.

FL also has the lowest number of COVID cases, yet the state has seen almost 1,000 people moving into the state a day.

Both TX and FL also opened up businesses and did away with COVID restrictions much earlier than most.

Conservatives MUST somehow ensure that TX and FL remain RED!!!

cato potatoe:
Yep - I just signed onto a 30% raise to move down there, and no income tax.  The economy is booming under DeSantis ... a few red states are dragging the whole country behind them.
