Biden to travel to survey Kentucky damage on Wednesday
By Alex Gangitano - 12/13/21 12:57 PM EST

President Biden will travel to Kentucky on Wednesday in response to the deadly tornadoes that ripped across the commonwealth and other states this weekend.

Biden said he was working with Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) on Monday to make sure his trip does not get in the way of recovery efforts, during a briefing from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Deanne Criswell and others on the federal response to the tornadoes.

He will travel to Ft. Campbell for a storm briefing and to Mayfield and Dawson Springs to survey storm damage, according to the White House.

“We’re going to get this done. We’re going to be there as long as it takes to help,” he said.

“Whatever they need when they need it,” Biden said his message was to governors from impacted states.

The Memo: Biden faces test in tornadoes' aftermath
By Niall Stanage - 12/13/21 06:49 PM EST

President Biden faces both a test and an opportunity in the aftermath of the tornadoes that wreaked havoc on Kentucky and several other states over the weekend.

The federal response to the disaster will be closely scrutinized for any shortcomings, and Biden will suffer political damage if that proves to be the case.

On the other hand, a strong response from the Biden administration to the tragedy, which has killed dozens, has the potential to breach the nation’s gaping political divides. And the president’s capacity for empathy, which even some of his ideological opponents acknowledge, should help him meet the moment.

Biden will visit Kentucky on Wednesday, where his ability to show compassion and care for those afflicted is likely to be on full display.

“So many people are facing immense, immense loss,” the president said at the White House on Monday.

The administration knows the stakes, substantively for the people of the affected areas and politically for the president.

A pathetic example of what passes for news reporting. They may as well say that Joe will go to Kentucky and show the world how much more wonderfuller he is than that old meanie Trump.

Wonder if he'll endorse Mitch for 2026 while he's there.

The NTs said in union 2020 ...
ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN TRUMP!!!!!!!!!

now they have their wildest dream, why are they not drinking champagne and cheering for Biden?
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

The original NT'ers are at home drinking a beer and smoking a doobie, thinking how the Trumpers screwed everything up in 2016.   :smokin:

He called it a hurricane the other day.  Hope someone gives him a science lesson before coming.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

An actual science lesson would show Joe that he is wrong on blaming the tornado on globull warming so that's one reason why it will never happen. The second is Joe is incapable of accepting he is wrong because in his egotistical damaged mind everything he says is the truth and once out of his mouth he won't let it go. Joe and his lies are like a dog with a bone, neither one will give it up.

I’m with the president in Mayfield. Looking at destruction. There is a Trump flag and when Biden got out of the motorcade someone called: “Let’s go, Brandon.” They said it twice. https://tinyurl.com/mvk6ds53
