National Archives releases trove of JFK assassination documents
By Maureen Breslin - 12/15/21 01:53 PM EST

Nearly 1,500 previously classified documents pertaining to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy were released by the National Archives on Wednesday, with thousands more yet to be disclosed.

The latest tranche of documents, posted to the National Archives' website, comes after President Biden in October delayed their release until this month, giving federal agencies more time to review the documents.

The National Archives said it and other agencies "will be conducting an intensive review" of redactions across more than 14,000 withheld documents "to ensure that the United States Government maximizes transparency."

"Any information currently withheld from public disclosure that agencies do not propose for continued postponement beyond December 15, 2022, will be released to the public on that date," the archives said.

Oswald met KGB before JFK assassination, delayed records dump shows
By Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

Quote
Lee Harvey Oswald met with a KGB agent just two months before the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, according to newly unsealed confidential documents stemming from JFK’s murder.

The CIA memos, part of a trove of nearly 1,500 documents released Wednesday by the National Archives and Records Administration, also disclose that an anonymous tipster warned US embassy officials in Australia a year earlier that Kennedy would be assassinated by the Soviet Union for a $100,000 bounty.

But the tip was never passed on to the CIA.

The records include newly revealed details of Kennedy’s death — but fall short of resolving decades-old speculation about the case. ...

President Joe Biden had promised that the trove of records would be released by October, but later delayed the move and blamed the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even now, the Biden administration said it would withhold many of the files and keep them under wraps until next December, the outlet said.

“It’s an outrage,” JFK’s nephew, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., fumed to Politico in October. “It’s an outrage against American democracy. We’re not supposed to have secret governments within the government.” ...

If you believe our government waited 58 years to release the JFK files because they didn’t want the American people to know that Russia was involved, you are an idiot.

Five Questions About Biden’s Dec. 15 JFK Disclosures
By jeffmorley

December 15 is the next deadline for federal agencies to release files related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy 58 years ago. What will we see? Last month, I offered some “smoking gun” possibilities in the Miami Herald. The pro-CIA Washington Decoded pooh poohs the idea that the JFK files contain anything of significance.

And that’s the JFK debate in a nutshell. There’s the people, like Harvard professor Cass Sunstein, who say, in effect, A little man killed a big man, get over it. And there’s the people, like Nobel Prize laureate Bob Dylan, who respond, Some big men killed a big man–and they got away with it. Who is right? This week will offer some clues.

At issue is a group of documents, identified by JFK researchers, that are known to exist and that speak to the breakdown of presidential security on November 22, 1963. If the CIA is serious about obeying the law, these documents will be declassified this week.

So far the government’s enforcement of the JFK Records Act has been disgraceful. ...

All theories aside, here are some factual questions to ask about Biden’s JFK release.

1) Did the Pentagon come clean on Operation Northwoods?

Northwoods was the code name for a 1963 Pentagon plan to hijack American democracy by staging a spectacular crime in the United States and arranging for the blame to fall on Cuba, thus justifying the U.S. invasion of the island that Kennedy rejected and the Joint Chiefs (and CIA) thought necessary.  ...

2) Did the CIA declassify the files of five undercover operations officers who knew the biography, travels, politics and personal life of accused assassin Lee Harvey Oswald before Kennedy was killed?  ...

3) Did the CIA come clean on the AMSPELL propaganda operation involving Oswald?

AMSPELL was the code name for the CIA front group, run by Joannides in 1963, that publicized Oswald’s pro-Castro activities before and after Kennedy was killed. The AMSPELL program had the distinction of generating the very first JFK conspiracy theory to reach public print, blaming the crime, a la Northwoods, on the Cuban government. Fifteen years later, Joannnides obstructed Congress’s JFK investigation by not disclosing the contacts between his AMSPELL agents and Oswald.  ...

4) Did the CIA disclose fully about illicit operations in Miami and New Orleans in 1963?   ...

5) Did the CIA disclose fully around the Watergate connection to JFK’s assassination?

I’m not talking about the unproven conspiracy theories that the Watergate burglars were involved in Kennedy’s assassination. I’m talking about the CIA’s file on Howard Hunt, specifically the JFK records that have been withdrawn from the files of an internal CIA investigation of the chief Watergate burglar.

I’m also talking about a top secret assignment that Hunt was cleared into in October 1970 after his “retirement” from the CIA. ...

Recently Released JFK Documents Met with Disappointment
Wednesday's release still leaves more than 10,000 redacted or entirely withheld documents, perpetuating disappointment among experts
Published: December 16, 2021
 By Michael Robison

Frustrated JFK researchers say there is little to gain from Wednesday’s release of formerly classified documents from the investigation of the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Most of the 1,491 documents released by the National Archives appear to duplicate previously released documents, with a few redacted words now revealed. Some records reflect no change whatsoever.

Wednesday’s release still leaves more than 10,000 documents either redacted or withheld entirely. Those additional documents won’t be released until December 2022 under an order issued by President Joe Biden in October.

The delay of records has prolonged the debate between the federal government and avid JFK researchers, who argue that CIA, FBI, and other national security agencies continue to disregard a release mandate issued in recent years.

“It’s always ‘the next time,'” said Larry Sabato, a leading scholar of the assassination. Sabato called the revelations in Wednesday’s release “minimal and worthless.” ... More at Timcast

Joe must really be doing poorly to have an attention getter like the JFK assignation released.

No doubt intended to distract from the moron in chief and the other morons.

News flash. Most dems under 40 don't know who JFK is or give a damn. Today JFK would be

I won't be going through the papers because dems have virtue signaled that dems had no

The National Archives Is About to Release More JFK Files. Here’s What to Expect.
Fifty-nine years after JFK's death, more information is about to come to light — but not everything.
By Philip Shenon
12/15/2022 04:30 AM EST

For this nation’s army of conspiracy theorists, few long-secret government documents have whipped up so much suspicion in the 59 years since President John F. Kennedy’s death as the CIA’s massive, multivolume background file on assassin Lee Harvey Oswald.

White House officials hope at least a little of that suspicion will be lifted later today, when President Biden is expected to order the National Archives to release once-classified information from about 8,000 documents related to the assassination, including many drawn from the so-called 201 “personality” file the CIA maintained on Oswald before and after Kennedy’s murder.

Officials involved in negotiations this fall among the White House, the National Archives and the CIA tell POLITICO Magazine the document release will be the most significant since 2017, when then-President Donald Trump waived a supposedly concrete legal deadline to declassify all secret government documents related to the JFK assassination. The 2017 deadline was set under a landmark federal transparency law passed by Congress a quarter-century earlier — the 1992 Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act. The bill’s authors said they hoped to tamp down growing public speculation about a conspiracy in Kennedy’s death, especially the wild skepticism created the year before by Oliver Stone’s star-studded, conspiracy-laden film, JFK.

The officials say there are no obvious bombshells in the material expected to be released today; there will be nothing to suggest Oswald was not the gunman in Dealey Plaza or — as many Americans believe — that there was a conspiracy in Kennedy’s death. ...
Does this idiot Politico writer believe only "conspiracy theorists" have any interest in knowing the truth about a pivotal historical event?  *****rollingeyes*****

US unseals thousands of classified JFK assassination documents
The documents cover a CIA surveillance operation against Lee Harvey Oswald before JFK's assassination
By Anders Hagstrom , Adam Sabes | Fox News

The National Archives unsealed thousands of formerly classified documents relating to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

President Biden ordered the release of 12,879 documents relating to the attack, including many from the CIA's personality file on Lee Harvey Oswald that it maintained both before and after JFK's killing.

Conspiracies surrounding JFK's killing have piqued the curiosity — and sometimes obsession — of Americans for decades. Nevertheless, White House officials have reportedly indicated that nothing in the documents will support the two most popular conspiracies: That Oswald was not the shooter and that JFK's killing was a government conspiracy.

The release is the largest since December of last year when the Biden administration released 1,500 documents, most of them related to Oswald; 12,879 documents were released on Thursday. Fox News is reviewing the files.

Why he did it is another question altogether. But as for the mechanics, there's no reason for me to believe that it wasn't.

More remarkably, it's been 59 years since a President has died in office. That's the longest stretch in American history.

Oswald pulled the trigger that fired the fatal bullet, but I think it is doubtful that he acted alone. He was a stooge/patsy.  Johnson along with the FBI/CIA ordered the hit.  Johnson wanted the presidency.

However, I was only 7 years old when he was assassinated so my opinion is based on what I have read and heard over the years.  I've read articles, conspiracy theories and watched documentaries.

I find it interesting that Joe is releasing documents now. What is this distracting us from??
