Maybe the lone voice of reason in this stupid mess. Even Ingraham and Hannity were banging war drums last night.    We don't need more overseas conflicts unless it threatens our own interests.

Now Taiwan is another matter, but that is a whole different matter for discussion.

Vlad's a thug and despot, but Russia's weakened.  So let the EU police their own back yard.

I really have no interest in using US blood and treasure to defend Ukraine.

The EU handle it?  They couldn't handle the disintegration of Yugoslavia and subsequent troubles in Kosovo and Bosnia. America, uh NATO, had to intervene to prevent a repeat of 1914.

And send our troops?  Go back under your rock.

The Europeans have proven, time and again, that they are not capable of maintaing peace and stability on their own continent.

The US usually gets drawn in when France and Britiain owe us money, and we need them to win so they can pay us back.

They've done a pretty good job with Western Europe so far, since 1946.

Perhaps the Ukrainians should have kept a dozen or so of those nukes they voluntarily gave up for dismantling after the old Soviet Union collapsed...

We have a core interest in keeping Ukraine viable enough to act as a buffer state between Russia and the NATO member states that are probably on Putin's wishlist, like Latvia and Estonia.

Lose the buffer, and we are obligated to go in full on if Russia tries to set foot in a NATO member state.
