EDINBURG, Texas (Border Report) — Texas has created what Gov. Greg Abbott is touting as “a steel wall along the southern border” using shipping containers placed along the Rio Grande in South Texas to keep out migrants and caravans from Mexico.

“Large shipping containers, resources & personnel are being used to protect communities & property owners,” Abbott tweeted this week. “Texas is securing the border.”

A row of about 20 giant containers has been placed on the riverbanks in the border town of Eagle Pass, Texas. Armored vehicles appear to be interspersed with the containers, as seen in the video Abbott posted Wednesday on social media.

I suppose one "stack" of containers (perhaps with a little barbed wire) may slow some invaders down, but that really isn't much of "a barrier".

Those troopers (or whoever they are) lined up along the containers are the real deterrent there.

How about some REAL "border barrier construction"?

I get that, but IMO and some may see this as inhumane and racist, but yes, the troopers lined up along the containers are the real deterrent;  however I believe there needs to be a loud speaker stating in Spanish that those who cross ILLEGALLY will be considered an enemy of the U.S.A. and fired upon -- it 's only going to take a couple of rounds and a few casualties to get the point across. The news will get back to those on their way or thinking of coming in.  This invasion IS a declaration of war!

Otherwise, you can build as many barriers as you want, but as long as it is being advertised that once you get to America you will be welcomed and everything given to you, we will continue to have problems.

NO ILLEGAL ENTRY means exactly that!  Start posting signs, making announcements and letting other governments know, that ILLEGALS are NOT welcome and will be considered any enemy of the U.S.A. and a declaration of war and fired upon.  Problem solved!!!

 I can think of a few remedies.
