Warren on Increased Gas Prices: ‘This Isn’t About Inflation’ – It’s Price Gouging

On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The ReidOut,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) argued that if “this were just ordinary inflation, we might see prices go up. But prices at the pump have gone up,” because the increase in gas prices “isn’t about inflation. This is about price gouging for these guys.”

Warren said, “We know exactly who the oil companies — what the oil companies pay attention to. What is their number one priority? Profits. And so, think about it this way, if we really — this were just ordinary inflation, we might see prices go up. But prices at the pump have gone up, why? Well, let me give you a hint, Chevron, Exxon have doubled their profits. This isn’t about inflation. This is about price gouging for these guys. So, I get it. When we see prices go up, we’re all concerned and the Republicans want to come in and just try to hammer on one theme about this economy, but we’ve got to pay attention to the fact that folks like the oil companies say, I think it’s just another opportunity to make profits and we need to call them out on that.”

Well the way I see it is that Biden and democrats destroyed the energy independence we had achieved which took a lot of oil off the global market which increased oil prices and thereby increased fuel costs across the nation. Now all this makes states like California ecstatic because higher gas prices mean a shitload of cash flowing into the tax coffers, which is why democrats don't want the drilling to be restarted and why Biden like Obama is removing even more land from being able to be drilled on. Will the oil companies make record profits again? Hell yes, but just like every other time the democrats try their investigating the evil oil compony ploy to cover their asses nothing will come of it. Funny isn't it how the oil companies were still able to make great profits while Trumps policies made us energy independent and lower fuel prices?

It's gonna get real dicey for Biden and democrats when we have a severe winter and heating oil and natural gas shortages along with people having to decide to eat or have heat because of the prices. But they will still try and blame Trump.

Biden shuts down Fracking, drilling, oil FIELDS, and the pipeline, and now announces he is upset about inflation and the price of gasoline.  Just a short time ago Biden and his accomplices and stooges cheered that this would end fossil fuels and force people to electrical power. Texas found out about the folly of electrical last winter.  Are people becoming afflicted of democrat/clintons amnesia?  Or just love being that STUPID?

Of course the Democrats are going to go with the price gouging angle. It’s not gonna work but they use it because it gives them an excuse to not increase domestic production.


So when oil prices go down, and subsequently gas prices, is it because of the altruism of the oil companies?
