Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called on President Biden to make use of emergency petroleum reserves in an effort to lower gas prices ahead of the holiday season.

Analysts have said that making use of the reserves would provide only a short-term solution and wouldn’t increase the country’s production capabilities.

Schumer then added that once the oil reserves were released it was time to end oil production in the US — to hell with them.

For some reason, the fake news mainstream media is omitting this from their reports?

Is Chuckie showing signs of Alzheimer's, too?  Only someone whose brain is fried by something would suggest something as stupid as this.  If he is thinking everything should be electric, maybe he's right.  But to cut off our source of much of our energy without a very, very good plan for the replacement of energy production, supply,  distribution, and infrastructure in place is absolute lunacy.

Go figure, the SPR is there for military reasons, and it would take an enormous release (depletion) to lower prices, at the same time dealing another blow to the industry which will be tasked with replacing those reserves (at top dollar).

The oil drilling sector is slowly recovering, and upChuck just wants to hammer it before midterms because it is an incredibly Conservative industry. The more people he can put out of work, the less campaign money will go to the opponents of this Communist dreck. (besides, Venezuela messed with their oil industry before they pretty much collapsed their economy, and these idiots seem to be following that model).
