The useful fool is the one that votes the same way over and over expecting different results. Keep pulling for that Rhinestone 'R' with no no long goals and no consequence for betrayal. That's WHY the Republicans are chock full of RINOs.

And no one gives Democrats a pass. you have NO control of Democrats, and they will always come back into power... So you can whine and cry and throw dirt in the air over that which you cannot control, or you can get pissed as hell at those you CAN control who had all three houses for two damn years and did exactly NOTHING. Nah. Damnocrats get no pass. And if you were fooled so badly you've only got yourself to blame. I expected every bit of this. What I don't expect, when the red wave comes next year, is for the Republicans to do a single damn thing to stop them, as history attests.

IMO @LegalAmerican some fight to retain the label "conservative" rather than promote the principles of conservatism. (I might get serious pushback on this, but so be it  )  There's also a wide streak of anti-Trump in this.

For most Americans, "conservatism" is not a mystical political philosophy, understood by a handful of superior beings sent to Earth to save humanity.  For most of us, conservatism is common sense --- intrinsic to who we are.

We want government with limited avenues to intrude into our lives --- we want an unobstructed right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  And  where government does have the right to get involved,  we want:  low taxes and controlled spending,  fair global policies that do not harm or disadvantage the American citizen, a strong, reliable national defense, judges who follow the Constitution; we want the rule of law, not the mob, protection of US sovereignty, and protection of our national legacy and birthright.

Call all of this "Conservatism" and they're happy.  Call this "America First" and many conservatives lose their minds ---because they refuse to see the principles rather than the label.  So we are forced to engage in the most bizarre and self-defeating debate in national politics:  'Which matters most, the label or the goals and results"?
