What parents need to know about a COVID vaccine mix-up with kids at a Loudoun Co. pharmacy

ALDIE, Va. (7News) — One day after a Virginia pharmacy's vaccine mix-up impacted more than 100 children in Loudoun County, 7News On Your Side is asking the director of the county health department exactly what happened, and what parents need to know.

In a letter sent to impacted families, Dr. David Goodfriend said that Ted Pharmacy, located on Stone Carver Drive in Aldie, "incorrectly administered" the COVID-19 vaccine to children on November 3 and 4.

"We don't believe anyone got too much vaccine, but it's just unclear whether someone might've gotten too little vaccine," Dr. Goodfriend told 7News.

The Virginia Department of Health said 112 kids between the ages of 5 and 11 were given the wrong dosage.

It must really stink to be a child in Loudon County.
