McAuliffe's obsession with Trump will be his undoing.  His attempts to smear Youngkin by tying him to Trump are born out of the false belief that demonizing Trump is what won the election for Biden.  It didn't.  Fraud and fraud alone is what won the election for Biden.

Which brings us to Fairfax County, a county that has experienced a modest 12% growth in population over the past decade.  Yet the number of Democrat votes that county produces has increased 90% over that same span.  No other county in the entire Commonwealth has experienced this large of an increase in votes for either party.

As Republican Glenn Youngkin moves into a virtual tie with Democrat Terry McAuliffe, both gubernatorial candidates are focusing on the Washington, D.C., suburbs and exurbs of northern Virginia.

In the final month of the campaign, Youngkin scheduled at least 11 events in the three most populous Northern Virginia counties, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William, and McAuliffe scheduled at least seven. President Joe Biden won those three counties by a combined 369,467 votes during his 2020 presidential election victory, nearly 82% of his total margin of victory in the state. Both candidates understand that if Youngkin can keep his margins in those three counties close, he will have a strong chance to win the governorship.

Youngkin hopes that a focus on education will help him improve his margins among these suburban voters, many of whom swung Democratic during the Donald Trump presidency. Biden improved on former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s 2016 margins in Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William by about 98,000 votes.  .  .  .

Agree.  Plus, there's a little acknowleged secret that here in the Commonwealth:   Trump is not considered the horror the democrats think he is.
Trump had wide support in the state--- hell, the 2nd amendment alone should have carried him over the line.  Many here think he lost the state due to the fraud machine  ---- For starters, there was that little "computer glitch" that required the removal of 90K + votes from the Trump column.  It was never mentioned again.  And then there was Fairfax ....

We're going to vote and then stop-by the campaign office to get a sense of the mood.  :crossed:
