No one is supporting the Bush cabal.

But Trump already has all the votes of people who dislike McCain and Powell and the media; there aren't enough votes there to win.

@HoustonSam

He has got MY vote,not because I dislike McCain,Powell,Obomber,etc,etc,etc,but because he hates them too,and enjoys making their heads explode by making fun of them.

Quote
He gains nothing by juicing up those same voters over and over; nothing except their rapturous applause at his rallies, that is.

Uhhhh.......

Quote
If that applause is what he really wants then he's playing his cards just right.  If he wants to rescue the country from the slow-motion disaster the Ds have brought, he needs to start appealing to people who don't come to his rallies and who aren't impressed by long threads of photographs of them.

IOW,you would like him if he were a RINO.

In other words,you are not going to let reason interfer with your hatred of Rude Orange Man.

Big of ya to admit it that YOU are so thin-skinned while accusing Trump of being afflicted with the same illness.

I voted for Trump in 20 and I will again if he’s the nominee in 24.  But I don’t let stupid, counterproductive bullshit slide.

@HoustonSam

I can live with that.

I never once thought that "being liked" should be a prime presidential concern. I just want an "America FIRST,dammit!" president,and don't care about anything else.

I care about the Constitution, and I care about USA citizens.  I do not give a damn about illegal aliens invading our nation.  ALL, including DACA folks should be deported immediately.  No judge, no lawyers, just send them packing.

The person that gets my vote in 2024 will be the one that promises to eliminate the H1-b Visa Program, which has unemployed 1.6 million USA citizens.  Trump promised to do this DAY ONE when elected in 2016.  He betrayed the USA citizens by kissing the posterior of the tech billionaire oligarchs 4 or 5 months into his presidency and INCREASING the H1-b Visa Program.  Empty f***ing rhetoric.  THIS ONE AWSH*T IS JUST NOT WORTH 1,000 THAT-A-BOYS FOR OTHER THINGS.  Sorry, but it is not for me.  And in the end, I think Trump running will have the left pulling all the stops to see he is not the next POTUS.  They got away EASILY with cheating in 2020, and nothing has happened to prevent a similar outcome.  Republicans are completely asleep at the wheel.

The displacement of our citizens for low cost labor from overseas MUST END.  I have zero tolerance for this crap, and allowed to continue, it will just get much worse.  As it is, Americans are 2nd class to the invading illegal aliens.  Unacceptable!!!!!!

Trump had his shot, he FAILED.  I really do not want him back, and all the baggage he brings.

I agree with a lot of what you have stated.  Who would you like to see as President in 2024 @jafo2010 ?

Serious question here @SamHouston  who does the GOP truly have if not Trump that may have a chance at defeating a Harris/Obama or a Harris/Rice ticket??

It's a fair question @libertybele ; my opinion of Trump notwithstanding, he certainly has the strongest support within the R party of any potential nominee.  But he also has the strongest negatives outside the R party.

So the question becomes who could retain the within-party support and gain the additional outside-party support?

DeSantis would probably be the top of my list for that prediction.  I don't mean I like him the best, I mean I think he would have the best shot.  I do not expect DeSantis to run, and the recent announcement of his wife's cancer diagnosis I think finalizes that.  I like TX governor Abbott but he has a mixed reputation here on this site and I think his speaking style and cadence would put people off.  Of course I'm on record here many times as a Cruz supporter; I would certainly vote for him.  Rand Paul has done good work recently; I also like Marsha Blackburn, Tom Cotton, and Josh Hawley but I would consider Hawley inadequately experienced.  I do not care for Rubio, Christie, or any of the Bushes.  I liked Scott Walker's positions very much in 2016 but he doesn't have the personality to pull off a POTUS run IMO.

None of those other potential candidates can even get a campaign going so long as a Trump candidacy is possible; he "sucks all the air out of the room".  IMO he needs to declare yes or no very quickly after the mid-terms so the party can sort itself out.

One can certainly argue that none of those other names can win, and there are several on this site who will probably make that argument; well the reality is Trump has proven that he can't win, at least not as the man he was in 2020.  A changed Trump could do it but I don't see the evidence that he recognizes what change he should make or that he's willing or able to make it.

   After chasin that car (Nomination) for years, Trump caught it.  The sad thing is he didn't know what to do next cause he's an idiot.

I am a huge Cruz supporter, but there are some in here that feel he doesn't have the personality to win. I think a Cruz/Greene ticket would be very strong, and Cruz I'm sure has learned a few things since he ran last time. Cruz/Blackburn would be another good ticket.

I'm leaning towards the GOP needing a female candidate to run to counter the real possibility of two females running under the DEM umbrella.

Back to election and ballot integrity .... that issue needs to be resolved otherwise it's game over before it even begins.

   It seemed the night to splash a little bit in the pond @libertybele   It appears, if recent history is any indication, that the infamous TBR Trumper Wars have matured past the old NT/AT fights of yore.  This is a good thing, boring but good.

   In actuality we are keeping our powder dry for 2023 and beyond.   :smokin:

I re-read the statement -- the intro he calls her a bully and a low-life....while it's true, he's doing himself at this point no favors.  As far as I know, the statement wasn't in response to something she said about him.  Then he goes on about her father.

This is one of those time when he would have been better off saying nothing.

Trump had the same reaction to Ms. McCain's spewing as did I; and apparently, as did you.  The difference between you and me is I appreciate his honesty---and feel relief that someone sees it as I do while you put his statement in the earth-shattering, career-ending column -----   :shrug:

How much of a left-wing dingbat do you have to be to hate Megan McCain BECAUSE SHE IS TOO CONSERVATIVE????????

In most political circles MM is considered to be a leftist dingbat herself.

I can cut Joy Behar a little slack on this because she is retarded,and really doesn't know any better,but Whoopie sometimes shows brief flashes of intelligence.

Well Meghan is starting to think of old issues. Never a sign a liberal would take.
That was the warning and The View acted fast.

As for retarded, that would be the hosts and those attentive listeners.

Here's what Trump said ....

And if you don't think there is anything wrong with what he wrote... then you don't understand why Trump is so intensely disliked.

Do I need to break it down, paragraph by paragraph, sentence by sentence? Sane people do not use this kind of language. Sociopaths do.

Trump of course is correct; I did find his comments a little strong and felt that he just came out swinging unprovoked...however, labeling Trump a sociopath?? By definition that is someone who is anti social and doesn't empathize with others.

Quite the opposite.  Trump has the absolute ability to connect with others  of a magnitude like no other past president or politician. That is his strength.  IMO he has some integrity and a conscience ... hard to find these days coming from those in the political arena.

@EdinVA

RINO's are living in fear of actual conservatives taking control,and well,governing like conservatives.

I guess it could be said in the defense of most of them that they are not old enough to have any memories of what actual conservatives govern like,so all they really know is what the left says about them.

Hell,none of us would vote for actual conservatives either,if all we knew about them was what the Dims and the media told us.
