We'll see who can hold out longer if it comes to that. Just close the valves and turn out the lights.

I believe Charleston has upgraded their port to handle big container ships. Also, Miami and New Orleans have deep water ports.

Bottom line is if Cali keeps playing this game, China will send their ships through the Panama canal to Fla Or TX.

It may be a hit longer route, but they'll make up for it not having to sit days or weeks to get unloaded.

I imagine the equation that the shippers have to work out is how much added time will it take to go through the canal, the cost of using the canal, the added fuel cost and can they pick up enough containers to go back with the added costs.
