Billionaire George Soros Donates $500,000 to Campaign Against Austin Police Staffing Proposition

This is the second time Soros has gotten involved in Austin politics since 2020.

The billionaire benefactor of progressive causes across the country, George Soros, has waded into the political fight over Austin’s police staffing — pumping a half-million dollars into a campaign to defeat Proposition A.

Among other reforms, Proposition A would establish a minimum staffing level for the Austin Police Department (APD) of 2 officers per 1,000. Earlier this summer, APD was floating around 1.2 officers per 1,000 residents. From current staffing levels, it’d require the hiring of roughly 500 officers.

APD is suffering not only from a dearth in approved positions compared with its staffing level two years ago, but also from rampant attrition within its ranks, averaging 15 to 20 departures per month this year.

According to the Austin American-Statesman’s Ryan Autullo, the Open Society Policy Center, one of Soros’ advocacy arms, gave $500,000 to Equity Austin which opposes Proposition A.

Back in the early '90's Soros criminally inside traded and short sold a shit load of Silver in England, and almost destroyed the U.K economy.  He got away with it with a what I remember what was about a $1B in profit.  No charges, no jail time.....  Nothing.

Back in the early '90's Soros criminally inside traded and short sold a shit load of Silver in England, and almost destroyed the U.K economy.  He got away with it with a what I remember what was about a $1B in profit.  No charges, no jail time.....  Nothing.

That is his goal; to destroy various different countries around the world.  He dominates with his money. He owns whatever he wants.  He has too many foundations, too much money and is too powerful to be stopped.  Those that are in line with him are just as evil.

One red flag that has always stood out with me is that Jared Kushner and his brother Joshua received their start up money for their company Cadre from Soros.  That is why I was so against Kushner, especially sitting in the WH and a Trump advisor.

Soros Drops $1 Million on Anti-Police Effort in Austin

Left-wing billionaire George Soros is throwing at least a million dollars behind an effort to stop the hiring of hundreds of new police officers in Austin, Texas, according to campaign finance documents reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

The Hungarian-born political activist gave $500,000 through the Soros-backed Open Society Policy Center to a political action committee in opposition to a ballot initiative that forces the city to employ two police officers per 1,000 residents.

Soros’s donation, made on Oct. 12, is his second of the month and comes as Austin experiences a decades-high spike in violent crime. The city has seen at least 67 homicides this year, the highest since at least 1981. Aggravated assaults are also up at least 10 percent, following a 26 percent spike in 2020.

On Oct. 1, the Open Society Policy Center cut its first $500,000 check to Equity PAC, a Texas-based political organization that backs left-wing causes. The donation is the latest example of Soros’s involvement in various left-wing causes at the local level. In 2020, Soros donated over $600,000 to a Texas-based left-wing group that backed the election of José Garza, who now serves as district attorney for Travis County, where Austin sits.

Since 2015, Soros has spent more than $17 million on various local races, including donations to left-wing prosecutors and state legislators. Virtually every candidate backed by Soros and the Open Society Foundations has supported a dramatic reduction in or elimination of cash bail and other policies critics say lead to higher crime...........
