Mexican authorities report finding more than 600 migrants in trucks near US border

Mexican authorities reported finding more than 600 migrants on Thursday night in trucks near the U.S.-Mexico border, The Associated Press reported.

The migrants were found in six trailers near a military checkpoint on a highway in the state of Tamaulipas, the outlet reported.

The trucks appeared to have left the state of central Puebla and were headed for Monterrey, which is a hub for reaching various points along the border.

A total of 642 migrants from Central America were discovered, of which 564 were from Guatemala. Some migrants were from Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Belize, AP reported.

Since they were heading toward Monterrey, which is over 100 straight-line miles from the US border they were not "near US border". And the closest they could have been in the State of Tamaulipas and on the highway to Monterrey would have been over 150 straight-line miles from the US border (their route to the border would have been much farther).

The SHill is getting sloppy, even when politics are not driving their reportage.

Only 600?  Thats about 15 minutes of the daily traffic load across the border....
So what did mexico do with the "migrants" other than feed them and take their temperature?  Send them on their way north?

CIUDAD VICTORIA, Mexico (AP) — Mexican authorities have discovered 652 Central American migrants in six trailers near the United States border.

The trucks stopped at a military checkpoint Thursday night on a highway between Ciudad Victoria and Monterrey in the northern state of Tamaulipas. The state public safety agency said Friday that four suspects were arrested.

Among the migrants were 564 Guatemalans, as well as migrants from Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Belize. More than half of those aboard the trucks were children, nearly 200 of them not accompanied by an adult.

DEPORT THEM ALL!!!! 

Kids or not they have parents somewhere; let the Mexican government care for them. It may sound cold, but these kids will be given everything and fall under the category of undocumented minors until they are of voting age.
