Three homes have been damaged after a military training aircraft crashed in Lake Worth, Texas, according to the Fort Worth Fire Department.

The Navy T-45C Goshawk jet trainer aircraft crashed in the backyard of one of the homes, and the debris damaged the nearby structures, Lake Worth Fire Chief Ryan Arthur told reporters at a press conference Sunday afternoon.

A military flight student and an instructor pilot were apparently conducting a drill training exercise at the time of the crash, Arthur said. The pilots were on a routine training flight out of Corpus Christi International Airport before the incident, according to a statement from the chief of naval air training. The aircraft is assigned to the training wing of the Naval Air Station in Kingsville, Texas

The headline sounds like someone is blaming the pilots for ejecting.

I hope that someone is willing to explain to us all the pilot and co-pilot being killed in the crash would have made anything  better.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.

At least they crashed it in the back yard, rather than the back bedroom.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

A student aviator involved in a Navy T-45 Goshawk trainer aircraft crash Sunday was electrocuted after being caught in power lines following ejection and is in serious condition, although officials said his injuries were not life threatening.

The mishap occurred at about 11:15 a.m. local time in Lake Worth, Texas.

An instructor pilot also safely ejected and was hospitalized, but authorities said the instructor was in stable condition.

Images from the crash scene on social media show the charred wreckage and a parachute hanging from power lines, as well as one of the ejection seats.
