Oprah reveals breast cancer scare for the first time as she admits she may shut down namesake magazine
By Daniel Bates
PUBLISHED: 10:42 EST, 26 November 2012 | UPDATED: 11:00 EST, 26 November 2012

Oprah Winfrey recently had a breast cancer scare and fears she may have to shut down O Magazine as she hates 'bleeding money'.

The chat show queen has revealed that in October she went to see doctors but that it turned out to be a 'false alarm'.

She had however taken the news so seriously that she did not even tell best friend Gayle King until after she got the all clear. ...
Rest of storySo she  announces that she does not have breast cancer, never did, and that's newsworthy? What am I missing?

Oh yes, and that's a shame that OWN and her magazine are losing money hand over fist.

Clinton to become next ambassador to Ireland?

Irish eyes smiling on Clinton?
By CINDY ADAMS, New York Post

Bill Clinton was just in Limerick, Ireland’s Adare Manor. Arrived at Shannon Airport early Saturday, 12:45 a.m. Private jet plus entourage, 10 pieces of luggage and his own black golf bag. Extra security of 10 swept the area. Secret Service earlier scanned the hotel, installing six floodlights at the entrance to secure protection. Bill went straight to room 301, his second time in this historical Irish property built in 1720.

Ordering room service, the ex-prez stuck to his diet. Intercepting the waiters, security delivered his veggie sandwiches personally.

Rumors swirl he’ll replace retiring ambassador Dan Rooney, 80, who’s returning to Pittsburgh next year. This is Clinton’s third 2012 visit — October, June, now November. When made a Freeman of Limerick, he received the honor personally, and they erected his statue at the golf course. He joked, “Because of my Irish heritage, if I bought a house here I could run for president of Ireland.”

Crowe ‘Tale’ of B’klyn woe
Last Updated: 8:31 AM, November 27, 2012
NY Post

Residents in Sandy-ravaged Red Hook are roiling over the star-studded Hollywood movie starring Russell Crowe that’s taken over their Brooklyn neighborhood as they try to dig out of the devastation.

Locals tell Page Six that production on “Winter’s Tale” — also starring Jennifer Connelly, Will Smith and Colin Farrell — was meant to leave by Thanksgiving. But shooting has been extended, causing traffic snarls, blocking access and parking residents say they need to continue digging out from Sandy’s damage.

The crew’s taking up all the parking spaces on the streets that residents and business owners desperately need to help the area dig out and recover,” local Francis Kerrigan said.

Business owners also complain that Conover Street, by the water, is clogged with the crew’s cars. Kerrigan added: “We were told the shoot would be done by Thursday. But now the crew says it will be longer because [Crowe, pictured right] didn’t show up for filming last week. When I asked when it would be done, the answer was, ‘As long as it takes Russell to film.’ This is a case of no-show Crowe adds to the [bleep] show!”

Another resident said the filming was too soon after the storm: “People are still trying to dig out. Fairway was under six feet of water. Now the movie has a craft-services tent in the parking lot.”

But a source close to the production told us shooting was delayed not because of Crowe, but by the storm which wreaked havoc on numerous schedules, including Crowe’s “Noah,” which just wrapped, and CBS’ “Person of Interest.”

“It’s not true at all that Russell missed any days on set,” the film source said. “Schedules for every production filming in New York have been shuffled because of Sandy, ‘Noah’ included. The film’s been working closely with the City of New York, and everything has been above board.”

Crowe’s rep told us, “There is no truth to this . . . [Russell’s] scheduled first day of shooting was [Sunday].” She said Crowe had only been on the set once earlier for “pre-production.” A rep for the movie had no comment.

Tipper. Update on the lady who used to be the once was, formerly, previous wife of Al Gore, who used to be the once was, formerly, previous VP of the US. Living far from glorious friendly Washington, she’s in Santa Barbara. Now happy. Dating a photographer.

But the split’s civilized. She sees Al, they speak, even recently vacationed together. It’s just that they don’t anymore want to live together.

Al, meanwhile, has made a crateload. Fat with cash. Fat with investments. And with nothing overwhelming to stress him, also fat with fat.

HILLARY. Bone-weary, she has one whole year to do zippo. Tend her hair, face, weight, nerves, family, friends and wardrobe. She needs to play. Do a spa. Sleep. Laugh. Waste a day. She admits she is well aware the public wants her in public life. Wherever she goes she’s constantly asked to run for president. Before she even thinks to do it, or starts raising money, staffers and PACs, it’s a year to rest. Then she’ll decide. Right now she doesn’t even know what she wants to do.

But I know what Obama did. His very first call after re-election? William Jefferson Clinton. To say thanks. To acknowledge Bill helped push him over the top.

Chelsea trying for baby, Bubba says
Last Updated: 9:26 AM, November 20, 2012

Bill Clinton says his daughter Chelsea and son-in-law Marc Mezvinsky are trying for a baby, according to our spies. Sources attending the All Ireland Scholarship Awards at the University of Limerick — where Bill was a special guest Saturday — overheard Bubba telling a guest when asked if he and Hillary want to be grandparents that Chelsea and Mezvinsky “tell us they’re working on it.”

When the spy asked if Hillary would run for president, he laughed, saying, “You’ll have to ask her.”

The ex-prez reportedly picked up $250,000 for speaking at the event, where 125 students received scholarships and guests included Irish Finance Minister Michael Noonan, businessman JP McManus, rugby icons Keith Wood and Paul O’Connell and Michael Smurfit, owner of the tony K Club.

Bubba arrived in Ireland on Friday and stayed at the luxe Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort, where guests have included Hugh Grant and John Travolta. Spies say he hit the links with pals Friday before his speech in front of 600 invite-only guests.

Hillary Rodham Clinton and Meryl Streep put on their brightest smiles to snap a self-portrait at the Kennedy Center Honors Gala dinner at the State Department.

Acting as hostess, Clinton worked the room at the star-studded Saturday-night fete, held for the 2012 Kennedy Center Honorees ahead of last night’s Honors Gala.

She even took time to pose for fans with her hubby, ex-President Bill Clinton.

Among the honorees attending were members of Led Zeppelin, blues icon Buddy Guy, Dustin Hoffman and David Letterman.

At one point, the ex-prez had to be coaxed to pose for a photo with the honorees.

Streep, who won an Oscar playing Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady,” is a professed fan of the secretary of state.

“She has turned out to be the voice of her generation. I’m an actress, and she is the real deal,” she said this year at the Women in the World Summit at Lincoln Center.

The Honors Gala will air on CBS Dec. 26.
I'm not an actress, and you're a nitwit.  ^-^

Leo DiCaprio and his “Wolf of Wall Street” co-star Jonah Hill racked up some impressive air miles for their New Year’s celebrations — cheering in the New Year in both Sydney and Vegas. The actors were spotted partying on a boat with a group of attractive bikini-clad women while cruising Sydney Harbor on Saturday. The pair flew from Australia to Vegas on a chartered 747 along with stars including Jamie Foxx, Kevin Connolly and Leo’s latest love, Margot Robbie. A source tells us, “They partied at Marquee Star Lounge Sydney and left at 1 a.m. Australia time, flew 13 hours to Vegas, arriving at 10 p.m. to Vegas, and went to Lavo to watch the fireworks.” Leo and his crew later partied at Marquee until the early hours. Over at 1Oak at the Mirage, pregnant Kim Kardashian, along with Kanye West, rang in 2013, and witnesses told us, “Kim and Kanye looked to be very much in love, sharing a long kiss after Kim counted down the new year to the night club. While Kim was alcohol-free, her group went through multiple bottles of Dom Perignon, and Kanye was seen touching her belly.” The DJ played Kanye and Jay-Z songs, all of which “Kanye sang along to and stood on the platform at his table for all to see.” Other celebrity attendees included Robin Thicke, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Lucas Haas, Erin Andrews and Foxx, who got on the mike to give a performance of “Gold Digger,” even though Kanye had already left the building.

They learn from the 'chosen one'. Obama flies around in AF1 like it's his personal toy. No one has put more mileage on that plane since it was built. Liberals make the rules for others to follow but not themselves. No president should be allowed to use that plane for campaign stops and vacation trips. It should only be used for government business. Period.

They think there is no end to the oil in the ground and waste it at every opportunity. There will be none left when our grand kids need it to stay warm. But at least these POS liberals are having fun.

Michael Moore raises holy hell
Last Updated: 8:58 AM, January 9, 2013
Page Six

Michael Moore got a bad review from at least one upset critic at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards at Crimson on Monday.

Moore was there to present Best First Film to David France for his doc “How To Survive a Plague,” a salute to a protest group that stormed St. Patrick’s Cathedral in 1989 over the AIDS crisis. But Armond White, gadfly critic and former organization chair, began heckling him for “anti-Catholic” rhetoric.

Moore raised hackles when he recalled how activists at the height of the epidemic blocked roads, threw pies at politicians and interrupted Mass at St. Patrick’s. Moore stated, “I personally like that one. I say that as a former seminarian.”

But White and a friend shouted, “[Bleep] you!” “You liar!” “Shut up!” and “Drop dead!”

Moore responded, “I’ve pissed off the Catholics,” and began a blessing in Latin. He then went on to say that “those who would deify Reagan and Pope John Paul II are responsible for the deaths of thousands of people . . . because of their bigotry.”

White — who has dished out his fair share of criticism to Moore in his reviews — was later heard saying that Moore “disparaged Catholics,” and told us, “I was offended . . . He was there to present the film and not present a personal political diatribe.”

Moore says, “I was just describing some of the things of the film . . . is a reactionary conservative [bleep]hole.”

Burkle avoiding Clinton? Sparks fly at Globes party
Posted: 12:20 AM, January 15, 2013

Bill Clinton mingled with Hollywood talent and top agents at the CAA Golden Globes after-party at the Sunset Tower Hotel. But one top power broker was missing. Sources said Ron Burkle, who has invested heavily in the Weinstein Co. and Relativity Media, was not there “because of his back story with Clinton.”

The pair were friends and flew around on Burkle’s jet, but then fell out. His rep said, “Ron went to Harvey’s party, then home.”

Burkle was expected to join Clinton at a fund-raiser for Kobe Bryant’s foundation in LA last night.

Other stars at the CAA bash included Robert Downey Jr., George Clooney, Bill Murray, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban and Amy Adams. Meanwhile Weinstein Co.’s Globes party nearly went up in flames when a drunk woman crashed into a heating lamp, sending the contraption and the guest toppling into a wooden table and chairs.

A witness said, “There was a gasp as guests could only watch the flaming tower fall and wonder whether it would then ignite the wooden patio furniture. But luckily the fire went out and the wobbly woman was attended to, then escorted to the exit.”

At the same time, Heidi Klum was burning up the party inside without her bodyguard boyfriend nearby. Klum jumped up on a wobbly cocktail table at midnight, dancing to hip-hop. “Castle” star Nathan Fillion told the supermodel if she got on the table, he’d take off his pants, which he did. Ryan Seacrest’s girlfriend Julianne Hough also tore up the floor, as did Chris Tucker, who showed off some Michael Jackson moves. Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale were hanging on a couch in front of “The Hunger Games” star Josh Hutcherson. Leonard DiCaprio played it cool, hanging with Bradley Cooper and Jonah Hill. Also there were Quentin Tarantino, Jamie Foxx and J.Lo, who glossed over an awkward moment when she bumped into her ex, Sean “Diddy” Combs, by introducing her boyfriend Casper Smart.

Al Roker's White House poopy pants - the story that just won't go away.

Rubbing Lauer’s nose in it
NY Post
Posted: 11:49 PM, January 16, 2013

Chelsea Handler got in deep doo-doo with Comcast brass over a joke about Al Roker’s unpredictable bowels that also smeared Roker’s “Today” colleague Matt Lauer, sources tell us.

Roker recently confessed to “Dateline” that he once “pooped” his pants at the White House, and news of the accident, ahem, exploded online.

Handler responded with a zinger on her E! show, “Chelsea Lately,” saying, “This isn’t the first time a ‘Today’ show cast member was in the news about this sensitive subject. For years it was common knowledge that Matt Lauer spent every morning [s - - ting] all over Ann Curry.”

WireImageChelsea Handler But Handler’s bosses — Comcast owns NBC and E! — were apparently not as amused as her audience.

“Chelsea’s writers were warned to lay off Matt,” says a source close to the show. “They don’t want them making more fun of Matt and the Ann Curry situation right now.” Lauer’s been a public target since Curry was canned as co-host of “Today” and replaced by Savannah Guthrie.

This isn’t the first time Handler’s slung some comedic excrement Lauer’s way. When Lauer made what seemed like a dig at Meredith Vieira during a “Today” segment on “cankles” back in 2009, Handler fired back with a shot at him.

In November, the comedienne canceled an appearance on “Today” by calling in hours before she was supposed to be on the show, due to what her rep told us was “food poisoning.”

But Handler said on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” later the same day, “That was a lie. I wasn’t sick,” and she apologized while getting in a swipe at “Today” hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford, by calling them “Hoda Kota-ba and Kathie Lee Jifford.”

An E! spokesman told us about Handler and her writers being warned about Lauer: “This is absolutely false, and no such request was made.” A rep for “Today” declined to comment.

And Mr. Soiled Slacks himself meanwhile said yesterday that he’s stunned that his messy White House secret has become such a Web sensation.

New life for Soros ex’s $50M suit
By JULIA MARSH
Last Updated: 3:39 AM, January 26, 2013
New York Post

Expect a second season in a Brazilian soap-opera beauty’s drama with her former squeeze, billionaire financier George Soros.

A Manhattan Supreme Court judge shot down the octogenarian mogul’s attempt to dismiss a blockbuster $50 million lawsuit by his decades-younger ex, actress Adriana Ferreyr.

Justice Debra James upheld most of the beauty’s claims against the lefty activist, who allegedly reneged on a promise to give her a $1.9 million apartment and then slapped her around when she complained, court papers say.

Soros had promised to buy Ferreyr the East 85th Street apartment in January 2010, just before he dumped her, court papers say.

The judge dismissed only a fraud claim, ruling that Soros, 82, really did mean to buy the dream home for Ferreyr, 29, even though he ultimately gave it to another gal pal.

James called Soros’ alleged behavior “atrocious.”

He “exhibited violent conduct towards her and hired persons to follow and intimidate her,” the judge’s decision noted.

The two sides will continue the saga at a court date in February.

CNN snares Chris Cuomo
 January 29, 2013

ABC News’ Chris Cuomo is defecting to CNN — and will take on “Today” and “Good Morning America” with a revamped new morning show he’ll host alongside the network’s Erin Burnett, Page Six has learned.

We hear that new CNN chief Jeff Zucker has succeeded in signing Cuomo, who co-hosts “20/20” with Elizabeth Vargas and is also ABC’s chief legal correspondent and the brother of Gov. Andrew Cuomo. We first reported that Zucker was eyeing Cuomo and has been “looking for an anchor he can basically make the centerpiece of the network.”

He has also poached ABC’s senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper. And, as we previously reported, Zucker also has his eye on former “Today” co-host Ann Curry, who is still tied to an NBC contract but has been stopped from doing live interviews.

We also hear Zucker has been scouting top print and digital reporters in Los Angeles to beef up CNN’s Hollywood reporting. Reps for CNN and Cuomo were not available for comment last night.

The NBA MVP hopped on the mike for nearly 30 minutes. “Turn the lights out; this is DC,” he boomed at one point. “We party all night!” Eight bottles of Hennessy and Moët & Chandon Nectar Imperial Rosé were ordered by the ballers. President Obama honored the Heat Monday afternoon for the team’s charity work and winning the 2012 NBA title.
