 In Exclusive Interview, Trump Calls Sept. 18 Rally A ‘Setup,’ Says GOP Senate Should Fire ‘Disaster’ McConnell

In an exclusive, wide-ranging interview with The Federalist on Thursday, former President Donald Trump also unloaded on Bush, McConnell, 'radicalized' left-wing Democrats, and a completely 'corrupt' American news media.

In an exclusive interview with The Federalist on Thursday, former President Donald Trump called for Senate Republicans to fire Mitch McConnell and elect a new leader, unloaded on “radicalized” left-wing Democrats, blasted former President George W. Bush as “one of the worst presidents ever,” and criticized current President Joe Biden’s “grossly incompetent” handling of America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. Trump also called the planned Sept. 18 rally at the U.S. Capitol a “setup” and said media would use it as an excuse to bash Republicans regardless of its outcome.

“Afghanistan is one of the worst things I think I’ve ever seen for our country,” Trump said. “To lose the young people [killed in the bomb blast] is so horrible. It’s a horrible situation.”

“What Biden is doing is grossly incompetent,” he added. “It’s a disgrace.”

I think Trump should keep his big mouth shut.  No one is going to fire McConnell.  PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!   And if Trump were to get re-elected, not likely, he would have to have McConnell work with him, or he gets nothing done.  I guess he did not figure that out yet having been POTUS for four years.   Ugggh!!

The damn stupidity of these people never ceases to amaze me.  Some things that are true need not be heralded from every mountain top.

It is obvious any such protest must be conducted far enough away from the Capitol that none can claim it was done as an imminent threat, and that their canard of "insurrection" cannot be employed.

That does not preclude massive and vocal gatherings, just removes them from where claims of a threat of violence can be made.
