North Korea fires 2 ballistic missiles off east coastNY Post, Sep 15, 2021
North Korea launched two ballistic missiles off its east coast on Wednesday — two days after the country said it successfully test-fired new long-range cruise missiles, South Korea’s military said.
The latest missiles were fired into waters off the Korean Peninsula’s east coast, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Japan’s coast guard said the missiles landed in the waters between Japan and the Korean Peninsula outside of the Japanese Exclusive Economic Zone.
No ships or aircraft reported damage, the Coast Guard said.
On Monday, the Hermit Kingdom said the test launches of newly developed missiles struck targets 932 miles away on Saturday and Sunday, according to the Korean Central News Agency.
The North called the missiles “strategic weapon(s) of great significance.”
The reported weekend launch was North Korea’s first known testing activity since March.
